A quick search shows that dimethyl sulfoxide is mildly toxic, and styrene is potentially carcinogenic. To be fair, unless you're a member of the industry, it's likely that almost any substance is going to be "suspicious sounding".

I can't say anything to the extent of dimethyl sulfoxide's toxicity, but, in my mind, the world is too big a place to be worried about "potential carcinogenics".
Mostly because almost fucking everything is a confirmed carcinogenic or a "probable" carcinogenic.
Examples:
Alcoholic beverage consumption
Environmental tobacco smoke
Solar radiation
Wood dust
Art glass, glass containers, and press ware (manufacture of)
Engine exhaust, diesel
Frying, emissions from high-temperature
Hairdresser or barber (workplace exposure as)

It doesn't take a lumberjack's worth of effort to, god forbid, remember AND use a condom/take a pill. e_e
Good thing you didn't make yourself sound like a male ignorant of women's issues right there.

In terms of casual sex though, condoms are always #1.
Then again, I'm always paranoid about potential long-term effects of chemicals.
