I'm guessing either happylight's or my idea of how insurance works is wrong.
I'm hoping it's happylight's, but it could be mine.
Here's how I thought it works:
1) You pay small sums every month for insurance.
2) If you get an accident, insurance company has to pay for you. The money that it uses may or may not include other insurance holder's money. It all depends on how much you pay per insurance each month and how much accidents you have.
3) Repeat.
If that is how it works, then technically other people are, yes, paying for your condoms. But they signed it in the agreement that the insurance company can pay whatever accident you gave them your money for? I mean, they get their own condoms and accidents and crap paid by other people too in return for this, so it works out.
Oh, and my grammar was bad in that sentence.
"Being poor is not the only reason why people don't have kids."
There, that's better.
