Religion: Denominations Interpretations and Conviences (Geared towards the religious)

Oh maybe there isn't a disturbing ulterior motive to this thread... I guess i'll read.

As well there's an issue of "convenience", some people just choose what to believe regardless of any proof from their religious text to back up what they say is right (ever see the mental gymnastics of a christian conservative trying to interpret the lesson of a rich man having a harder time getting into heaven then a camel going through the eye of a needle... it's worthy of an Olympic gold medal).

GAH, why this!? so out of the mood of the thread man. You're asking people to be open and then you dump a stereotype on their face. Conservative super-wealthy politicians are such a terrible example of anything.

With all that in mind I'm curious as to what, besides faith (I'm not saying it's not an answer, but it's the obvious one and I'm kind of hoping to get a "real" explanation), makes your particular religion, denomination, and/or practices seem right.

This is basically the process I use to rule out religions as i examine them. I say rule out because thus far none of them have convinced or "convicted" me. So i'm agnostic because nothing has persuaded me so far.

I don't know if this is what makes Christianity necessarily "right". But this is what makes it unique and is what attracts me to it. In Christianity grace is at its center. If you believe you do not reap what you sow. And the only thing you have to do to get this grace is accept it.

What you quoted reminds me of how bono is a pretentious douche more than anything.
