Have you ever illegally downloaded a music file?
I believe so, however very little of it has been from domestic artists, so I'm not sure if it counts.
If so then when did you start downloading music illegally? And how?
'97 or something? Kazaa-Lite.
If you dont pirate music what are your reasons?
Whenever things are domestically released in a way were I don't have to pay 3x the price for importing, I am glad to support the market.

How many albums were you buying, on average, per month? (Whether from paid download services such as Itunes, or buying cds from stores)
Had a few disks that came in combo-sets with game purchases, but other than that, the only thing I can remember buying that early was a cassette tape of N64 first party games from the Nintendo cataloger. I might have had a few more, but they'd be gone in that car fire we had years ago.
Roughly how many different artists were featured in your collection, how many different genres?
I was not overly interested in music, nor capable of remembering the artists names before I started my download era. I.E. I just listened to my parent's smooth jazz

How many albums or songs are you downloading illegally, on average, per month?
Hmm... Kinda stopped now. Nothing's really caught my attention from games (mainly since I haven't updated consoles). I do download remixes here and there, but those are put up for free by the artists themselves on a public hosting site.
How many albums or songs are you buying, and if so why do you choose to buy them when you can simply download them for free?
I have something like 35 albums now, and they were all purchased after my first "pirated" file. As I said above, if I find myself to really like the music, and it has been domesticated (with a few exceptions), I tend to buy the music whenever I can catch at least a 30% sale. I do want to support this market.

Amongst the 30 gigs I have on my comp; including those ripped from purchased disks and the free remixes; I'd say I have somewhere around 75 artists and almost all genres in existence save for rap and southern country.
How often do you go to concerts?
About once a year, occasionally skipping. Video Games Live. Was pissed I missed Nobuo's "More Friend's" performance in L.A. several years ago, but wound up importing (the irony being as I said it was played HERE) the album recorded then.
Would you say you listen to music more now than you did before illegal downloads?

How acceptable is piracy to you?
As I stated earlier, I do prefer to buy things once they are made available, and I can afford them. "Piracy" can be used to describe what I do in some ways, but viewing piracy as a whole, I dislike it. This is partly from my love of the entertainment industry as a whole, and partly since I was working for said industry for a time. When I first got into this stuff, my mindset was different, and I didn't care about the repercussions, however I have changed my opinion over time.
Why do you believe piracy is not seen as stealing by many people?
Loose: Because they won't get caught.
^Pretty much this. I'd have to agree with it, but I still think it is wrong. But hey, I'm a ball o' hypocrisy anyway, so I'm guilty as well.
Do you think piracy has, in anyway, changed the music industry for the better?
I can't say. I have never interacted directly with the artists, so I'm not sure of what their thoughts are on the matter. Additionally, practically none of my collection is domestically made, so I haven't even conversed with those who generally pirate to get a rough idea of the overall impression from "our" side either.
