Well that's pretty much what's happening with me. If I had a CS degree and stopped at an undergraduate's degree I'll be making roughly the same as my current plan: To go to graduate school and get my PhD so I can teach math.
But hey, I love teaching people math, so that alone makes it more worth it than any job I'd otherwise have. With that much math I also have the option of becoming an actuary and making nearly 3x as much after a few years, but it wouldn't be something i'd enjoy doing.
