@Spidey: There's a pretty huge difference between sticking your cat in a box, shutting the door, watching it spin and thinking "HUH THIS IS A GREAT IDEA, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE ELSOH GOD OH MY GOD MR. FRIZZLES!!!!" and expecting basic privacy when you do something. Most of us here are decently versed in the awful ways of the internet but you can't expect everyone to be. There are people who have lives and only spend tiiiiny amounts of time on the internet and it's to do private things like talk to family or friends. She didn't expect that an app that apple had allowed to be on her phone would be so poorly secured; just like no one hacked recently expected Nexon to be so poorly secured. These people aren't at fault for not expecting every possible eventuality of their actions.
and as far as this being "not so bad" goes, I find that ridiculous. There are those of us who have to go out daily and be seen. Being leered at by strangers is awful; imagine knowing that they've all seen you naked. Well, I'm sure that won't get through to you but for most of us that is devastating. It's even worse when your loved ones and the people you have to associate with daily have been forcibly shown these images. This can absolutely ruin your life.
Not everyone is microwave savvy; there are still people out there who can't even tell if a plate is microwave safe or not. It isn't their fault that they didn't research on it at all, and trusted that their microwave would be able to handle aluminum foil. I mean, it's just like an oven, right? I put aluminum in the oven all the time, so I trust the microwave to safely deal with aluminum. I definitely shouldn't look into the possible dangers of using a microwave inappropriately.

My rhetorical scenario never implied that her sending pictures was an indication of a failing relationship. I didn't even think anyone would come to that confusion when reading that post at all. I was simply saying that I wonder how she would have felt if it was her trust in her boyfriend that betrayed her. It's a pretty common scenario to get back at an ex by spilling their private photos and videos online. If their relationship had come to an end, and he did this, I wonder how she would have reacted.
