You're right, which is why they want to leave. Many 3rd world countries are oppressive, I don't think lowering your standards to theirs is very viable. And in essence, america was built on immigration, to not embrace it is hypocritical.
The problem I have with deporting illegals is the fact that a lot of people either:
1) Face oppresion/will be harmed when they return.
2)Have basically spent all their money/still owe money to whatever smugglers brought them to the States. Which relates to #1 since they are in harms way.
EDIT: After reading those laws, a lot of them are in effect in some form or another in the States or even Canada. Except the right to vote for naturalized citizens.
