When they're thousands of miles a part, people do things to fill the sexual gap; to show their love and appreciation for one another. It's no different than phone sex. It's their private business, it doesn't make her a whore or a dumbass or whatever else you want to call her. And yes, it absolutely can be avoided. It's pineappleheads with no respect for privacy who think they can do whatever they want that make it seem like this bullpomegranate is okay, or unavoidable or whatever else. You're defending the wrong people and allowing a victim to be victimized further. That's disgusting.

A man puts his cat in the microwave because he thought it was a nice way to dry her off from the rain. He blames the microwave company for not covering his stupidity. Do you take his side? Because that's what's going on here. Some dumb bitch got herself into an embarrassing situation from her own stupid mistake. Oh well, guess she should learn from it and move on. As embarrassing as it is, something like this isn't really "life ruining" unless you have some sort of public reputation to uphold. Even then, you can still make it through.

Not only is she stupid for taking nude photos of herself and trusting them to be safe anywhere on cyberspace, but she's stupid for sending them to someone. Oh boy, I wonder what her reaction would have been like when they break up and her hubby posts her photos instead. Not that this happens all the time obviously, but it's a very likely scenario. No matter how much you trust someone, sending your nudes online to anyone is a dumb idea. Unless you don't care about them being made public.

I didn't even see more than about 10 seconds of the video. I don't have to, because this kinda story always happens.

I mean, don't misunderstand me. I feel very sympathetic for her, and like I said, if I could help her in any way, I'd definitely try. However, on the same side of that token, after thinking about it a little more and comparing her feelings to my own relationship, I recant what I said about her sending the picture of herself topless to her husband. Putting myself in her shoes changed my perspective a bit. While there were lots of different, safer ways she could have transmitted that picture, Sarah is actually right. I'm an engaged man of 25 years, and I can tell you that if I had to go extended periods of time without being intimate with Bec, I don't know what I'd do. I'd probably lose my mind. So, getting a similar picture from Bec would actually be very, very nice. Married couples do stuff like that, only most of the time it's in person when they're making love. One solid, solid aspect of a flourishing marriage is being sexual with each other, in what ever way is available. But, like I said, the medium she used to transmit that photo was a little silly.

She's dumb for using an untrusted app, but her sending a topless picture of herself to her husband does not make her a whore. The only reason people are calling her a whore is because the picture got plastered all over the fucking internet. I'd be willing to bet (and I could very well be wrong) that she wouldn't have ever posted pictures like that on the web on purpose. So, calling her a whore based on the malicious actions of sick fucks on the internet is asinine. Her sending that picture, thinking it was going only to her husband only shows that she's a woman who loves her husband, and nothing more.

I honestly had no idea what to say to this, originally. Just because she sent a topless picture to her husband, that means she's in a bad marriage and it's going to end? While the divorce rate in the USA is still over 50%, this statement made me laugh. It all goes back to people thinking she's a whore because the picture got posted to the internet. She sent the damned picture, sure, and she did so rather irresponsibly, and now she's having to live with the ramifications of her mistake. But, to assume whorish tendencies and a failed marriage based on one picture is fucking ludicrous. >_>

Not everyone is internet savvy; there are still people out there who can't even turn on a computer. She's definitely naive but imo that's a good thing. You shouldn't have to do everything expecting some assholes to ruin your day. People expect the internet to be just as private as being in their own home; and it SHOULD be. There are just a lot of disgusting pigs out there who find joy in being as awful as possible. She's not at fault for the terrible things other people do.

@Spidey: There's a pretty huge difference between sticking your cat in a box, shutting the door, watching it spin and thinking "HUH THIS IS A GREAT IDEA, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE ELSOH GOD OH MY GOD MR. FRIZZLES!!!!" and expecting basic privacy when you do something. Most of us here are decently versed in the awful ways of the internet but you can't expect everyone to be. There are people who have lives and only spend tiiiiny amounts of time on the internet and it's to do private things like talk to family or friends. She didn't expect that an app that apple had allowed to be on her phone would be so poorly secured; just like no one hacked recently expected Nexon to be so poorly secured. These people aren't at fault for not expecting every possible eventuality of their actions.

and as far as this being "not so bad" goes, I find that ridiculous. There are those of us who have to go out daily and be seen. Being leered at by strangers is awful; imagine knowing that they've all seen you naked. Well, I'm sure that won't get through to you but for most of us that is devastating. It's even worse when your loved ones and the people you have to associate with daily have been forcibly shown these images. This can absolutely ruin your life.

Some of you guys amaze me. Not everyone is as aware as those of us who use the Internet on a regular basis...Sure, she made a poor decision using an unknown application to send a picture like that. But is it really her fault for trusting the integrity of the app and the people who created it? Is she in the wrong for assuming that what she was doing would remain private between her and her husband?

I can't see how any of you can actually go about calling her a whore just because she did something like that for her husband. Not everyone is microwave savvy; there are still people out there who can't even tell if a plate is microwave safe or not. It isn't their fault that they didn't research on it at all, and trusted that their microwave would be able to handle aluminum foil. I mean, it's just like an oven, right? I put aluminum in the oven all the time, so I trust the microwave to safely deal with aluminum. I definitely shouldn't look into the possible dangers of using a microwave inappropriately.

My rhetorical scenario never implied that her sending pictures was an indication of a failing relationship. I didn't even think anyone would come to that confusion when reading that post at all. I was simply saying that I wonder how she would have felt if it was her trust in her boyfriend that betrayed her. It's a pretty common scenario to get back at an ex by spilling their private photos and videos online. If their relationship had come to an end, and he did this, I wonder how she would have reacted.

Silly analogy for a silly situation. They're both a lapse in common sense. She's not in her 70's or something, and she's well off enough to have an iPhone, and connects to the internet actively enough for facebooking. She has reason to not know the dangers of the internet.

I'm not dumb enough to do something like that. I don't trust anyone that much, and never will. I don't even post normal images of myself online, let alone nude. If I need to take a picture of something for online, the most of me that's in it is a hand or something.

If it did happen to me, I'd be pissed, but it would eventually blow over anyway.

This is the last straw right here. This isn't even a "security breech"; they didn't try to secure it, because it was just an image hosting service that added text with your image. This is like blaming tinypic for not securing your images. I'm out of this thread.
