1. According to the theory of aerodynamics, the bumblebee is unable to fly. This is because the size, weight, and shape of its body in relationship to the total wingspan make flying impossible. The bumblebee, being ignorant of this “scientific truth,” flies anyway.

If you Google this question you can find the answer. This question really gets to me. Especially since it's a "sample" problem and the answer explanations are: ridiculous, even more ridiculous, irrelevant, and absurd. Thank God I didn't buy this book. I'm too retarded to even grasp a sample problem in it's entirety. If I didn't have five months for this exam I would most likely have resigned myself to sending my resume to McDonalds. You're supposed to solve this problem in less than 30 seconds.

I was pretty sure it was something like "bumblebees believe that they could fly, so they fly."

...that was what an inspiring comedian told us a couple of years back in school, anyways. Or something like that. Included something about flying differently.

C, D, and E are definitely wrong. D and E are both absurd. C and B are irrelevant. I don't even know how A would strengthen the argument at all... The correct answer is A. I will most likely post other ridiculous questions I find in this thread in order to keep me motivated and to hopefully finish in five weeks. I really hate this test.

Technically, all of them are wrong, since bees fly like helicopters, not like airplanes.

The answer is B. B is the only answer that strengthens the points made by the first few sentences (That the bumblebee can't fly). And still silghtly goes along with the last sentence (the ignoring the facts about not flying) because it can glide which is slightly comparable to flying.

Regardless of the fact that the answer for A is definitely a true statement, it does nothing to advance any of the author's points. C-E are definitely no's.

Honestly, this wasn't that hard. I chose A because the rest obviously didn't really make much sense.
