How much magic is 1 int? A more accurate answer.

In most forums, when this question is asked, the common answer is 1. While this is a satisfying answer for most maplers, there can be a more complete answer.

A lot of maplers know that 1 int is superior to 1 magic. They say that 1 int is:

Moreover, 1 int adds more damage than 1 magic, even without factoring maple warrior and echo. The following 2 videos should show it.

It looks like every int gives [spell atk/200] damage (and 1 magic, 1 mdef, 1 hand, etc.).

A few consequences of this.

- The magic damage formula is not solely magic-based. It looks more like [function of magic + int/2]*spell atk/100.
- When the total amount of magic on 2 equips is equal, one should go for the one with the higher added int.
- This 'discovery' does not have that much impact in game. In practice, no one would have the choice between a 50 magic equip set or a 50 int equip set. Yet 50 int only gives 10 damage on magic claw, 251 damage on lvl 30 genesis on skeles.
- The total int may be used to determine whether someone with 1000 magic is really stronger than someone with 999 magic. It may also explain why some people need 1295 magic to 1hko skeles with gen30 while others need 1300. Same thing for archmages.

I don't expect this thread to be any ground-breaking, but I would like to have this fact out. I like theories (and proofs) and to find out how the game works, even if it doesn't have that much impact while playing.

But has anyone showed the proof? That's one of the points of this thread. I know a few threads already have the 3.3*magic+0.003365*magic^2+int/2, but I never found out how they got it.

As I said, I don't expect this to be ground-breaking.

The proof has been shown that we've been able to find out the new Chain Lightning multiplier rather easily when it changed. If that doesn't show proof, I don't know what will.

Er, no not that one

MAX = ((Magic²/1000 + Magic)/30 + INT/200) * Spell Attack
MIN = ((Magic²/1000 + Magic * Mastery * 0.9)/30 + INT/200) * Spell Attack

As for how we know ... well, the int/200 part is easy. Just create a character with 200 int and 0 matk, and you'll be doing exactly spell atk on every hit.
