Mages at CWKPQ?
#1
So I was thinking, How effective would it be for a AM to spam his/her AOE while on top when margana is down? Instead of using single target attacks on rellik?

Rellik stuns up there... I don't think it'll be very effective. Oh, and don't forget it seals, too. His range is particularly impressive, as it can reach you offscreen. At least you'd be safe from the 1/1 + poison.

You could potentially jump over Rellik's stun if you had really high jump. Trying to predict his attack from way up there is going to be hard though.

Hsalf = Weak to ice, resists fire, immune to holy
Rellik = Resists ice, weak to fire, immune to holy

To be honest, I'm not sure if spamming ults is the best idea, but I guess it's the best DPS a mage can bring (except Bishops, LOLOLOLOL)

Spamming ults isn't always the best idea. It can cause others to lag. And unless you have an elemental advantage, they aren't worth it at all.

Usually everyone picks off one boss at a time, so after the the mage, you'd either be hitting 2 bosses (not that great) or 1 boss (even worse). You're better off spamming para/CL on the boss everyone is killing first.

inb4olddrama.

Ultimates are not the only cause of lag for certain people, yet the bottom line is that if you lag due to a 2D online game, you have upgrading to do on your computer. Don't change the way other people play the game if you're too lazy to change yourself in order to keep playing.

On topic: I've had a lot of success with ultimate spamming at CWKPQ. Most times I go with the bare minimum amount of people, since the groups I go with are high enough that the 200 Hero and 18x NL or whatnot, along with whoever else we have, are enough to essentially kill everything. My role at the bosses is usually working with the Dark Knights or Heros to Rush/KB the bottom 3 bosses into the left corner, where myself and the other warrior keep them penned against the wall until Margana is dead. In this time having Elquines out + using Meteor Shower every 3 seconds (ensured by standing on top of the bosses like with Griffey and Manon to help prevent stun and Nirg's extreme KB) can net me over 100k DPS, which is quite good for the time being. Once Margana is down we split up bosses one at a time, while the warrior and I keep the remaining ones in the left corner. Using this method, I've easily KS'd other classes, getting close to a mil white EXP per boss when they die.

The problem with using single target skills is that they're much more difficult to spam when you're on top of the bosses. Naturally then, you move right off to the side so you can spam, but this puts you at risk for stun and KB...and for anyone who has been down there before, they know how maddeningly frustrating it can be to be KB'd out towards the middle platform and not be able to get back to the side because you get stunned every 2 seconds. Even Big Bang is difficult to charge and spam, as making sure your attack goes off without a hitch means you have to wait a second or two to be hit before using - and of course, doing so may put you at such an HP/MP risk that you have to stop charging to pot.

All in all, ultimate spamming the 2-3 bosses below is the best situation for ArchMages at CWKPQ, as they can help KB them into the corner and provide massive mob DPS for a good portion of the battle. Other methods put the ArchMage at risk of death and severely reduce the DPS contribution they could make. Single target skills should only be used when the final boss is left, at which point it will die in a matter of minutes since you'll already have duo'd it past it's 40% HP mark and everyone else is attacking.

Not to mention Big Bang is far more damaging to warriors, in that they can't see what the bosses are doing when the mage spams it on top of the enemies. Not being able to see/predict Rellik's attacks can be quite harmful.

Exactly. Meteors and Icicles from above > E=MC^2 craziness blowing up in your face.

As an I/L spamming CL gives me more dps then spamming blizz. Probably cause it hits 3 targets unlike paralyze which only hits 1. I only blizz when the small mobs get summoned. And when you're spamming your ultimate you can't move, so you have a chance to get knocked away and get stunned.
Also with slow, the bottom 3 are easily controlled. KBing the warrior boss is a bit of a pain, but he's so slow you can just lure him in lol.
