Final Fantasy VII Re-Release
#1
There is not a thread on this already? :f6:

I don't know how that's physically possible, but here goes;

So it'll be FF7 with better graphics and an easy mode that lets you ignore the point of the game?

Sounds like Nexon made it or something.

Nope. Same graphics.

It's not worth mentioning, that's why there's no thread on it yet.

There've been several dozen PC re-releases as well as, of course, the PSN release a few years ago. Adding achievements and a couple of cheat modes does not make it worth mentioning.

So out of all the pirated copies on the internet, only now they re-release the game, only not to change diddly squat and add small things? AND you have to pay?! Enix, put down Versus 13 and XIV please. Versus 13 has been development for how long? and XIV was just crap, and I don't think re-releasing it under FFXIV 2.0 along with the Home console release of the game is doing it any justice.

It'll be more compatible with modern hardware and OSes and have these extra features.

Wee? :/

Thats great and all but what's the point if it still looks like it's made of origami.

Just. Re-release. It. With. Better. Graphics. God. Freaking. Damn. It.
They are really putting too much time into those two games...

Actually, it does look like there will be a resolution upgrade to character and monster models.

I'm doubting the change will be a significant improvement though. I will probably stick with my psn copy unless this is moddable. I can imagine some interesting mods...

With all the time they have spent making all these pomegranate re-releases they could have made a remake by now. Also it’s only sold through their store, not even on Steam or anything.

Not to mention how long Versus 13 and XIV 2.0 have been in development.

Well... since we're on the topic of FFVII here... in order for a remake to be made, the CEO of Square said that they need a Final Fantasy that surpasses FFVII. Logic doesn't make sense.

Well, they could learn a thing or two from Nintendo. They've remade their old games beyond hell.

Square is being a bit derp at the moment. They could have made a BIGGER profit than before if a remake were to happen... BUT NO. They wanted ANOTHER Final Fantasy to surpass VII's legacy but that won't happen for a while.

They did good when a remake of III and beyond for the DS came out though.

Exactly, and that got some good sales. They really need to learn to go back because Versus 13 is holding back everything...most notably Kingdom Hearts III.

Would much rather have a re-release of Final Fantasy VIII or IX

"Until they create a Final Fantasy game that surpasses VII"

Didn't they do that 5 titles ago?

No, but I'll accept 10 or 12 as the answer. 9 was too cartoony, felt like FFT.
