There was a pre-open beta event that commenced over this past weekend. It consisted of two days of limited hours of play to test the servers to see if they were ready for the real open beta. Anyway, I got an e-mail from Sega this morning saying this (translated from JP→EN, of course) :
PSO2 Admin Wrote:There were a lot of people who participated in the pre-open beta test on Friday, June 15th and on Saturday, June 16th. We thank you for your participation.
We express our gratitude from our hearts.
We would like to inform you that the time and date of the opening of the next open beta test has been determined as following.
Thursday, June 21st, 2012, starting at 16:00 (That is 3:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time (GMT -5))
The data of the characters created in the pre-open beta test will not be able to be used in the open beta test, but the characters
created during the open beta test are planned to be carried over into the official service.
Meanwhile, the downloaded files that were used for the pre-open beta test can be used for the next open beta test
as well as the official release, so we advise you not to uninstall these files.
We are waiting with all of our hearts for everyone's participation.
Or something...
There was another, very long, segment of text under that that talked about the statistics and whatnot of the pre-open beta. Apparently, it had 41,500 participants online at the same time on the 16th.
If you're interested in playing this game, the open beta starts this Thursday. You can sign up at the official site, which you can find here : http://pso2.jp/players

Congratulations! You can now download and play Phantasy Star Online 2 when it goes live!
We need to determine the Ship we'll be on (Ship = Server).
During OBT, Justin, myself, and a couple of my friends were on Ship 04. There's going to be 10 come OBT, so we need to coordinate where we will play otherwise we'll be all over the place.
I suggest 04 or 06, maybe 04 since that's where we were during CBT.
I do love the Phantasy Star Online series, and have been looking forward to this one for awhile, and while I am certainly interested in trying out the beta, is it all in Japanese? It would drive me mad if I had no idea what to do during quests, what items give what stats, etc.

Derosis Wrote:Well if anyone would like to get a group chat together. the server opens in an hour.
I can listen to you guys chat if you want, and type responses, because I don't have a Mic atm.
I won't be online until 7pm EST though, cause I have work.
Justin should create a Team, I believe it's free to do so. He would be the best at navigating those menus. Team is just a fancy word for Guild as far as I know.
Oh and sorry guys, I didn't know the patch was gonna be this big. Must be a lot of changes from P-OBT.
I completed the tutorial just a moment ago but I won't be able to do much yet. I'm gonna google some guides later so I can get around but after I finish some Maple and DFO events I'd like to work with you guys. I can't wait for an English patch Q.Q
