Free-to-play developer/publisher Nexon could be looking to buy Electronic Arts. According to Bloomberg, which picked up on the news from a Korean newspaper, Nexon "has contacted EA about making an offer." No word on whether this would see EA absorbed or merged.

EA's shares are, as of press time, up almost six percent following the alleged approach, which is the highest they've been in six weeks.

While Nexon is the bigger company, it doesn't necessarily have the cash on hand to acquire EA, which has a market value of approximately five billion dollars. When IGN asked EA about the possibility of this buyout, a corporate representative said,"We don't comment on rumors or speculation about our business." Nexon was quiet as well, stating, "Nexon's policy is to never comment on rumors."

If this is the start of something genuine, you'll hear more as IGN discovers details.

Why would this be in Nexon Announcements?

I looked in every reasonable place before posting.

I think that thread should be deleted and mine should remain because that's just not right.

Because it's posted by Notify and -if you didnt know- it collects news articles about Nexon as well. No reason for it to be deleted. Say it's a bad place for it? Shenanigans is way worse.
