Zelkova's Minecraft Server!

Yay I had already forgotten 1.2 was even coming out today, lol.

Jungle Biome located and gated to the Nether. Head towards the ruins paths and then take a right. Eventually there will be signs for it. Pretty decent size though it does have a few cut edges due to previous chunks. Ocelots confirmed spawning there. No issue with the transition to 1.2 spotted so far. Oh except that nether gates above 128 don't work quite right.

Completed the color wool farm tower, sans a few stairways. Laptop is pomegranate and I can't really do anything when I'm double placing/breaking each click at 3-7 fps average.

Got a nice start on the Isle of Potential/SkyTown. the Central Hub is up and running, but for some reason i cant place the Nether Gate above 128 blocks, as LSJ has said. Hopefully we can find a fix for this. (hence the nether portal at the top of the mountain instead of in the dome.

Chunks are missing from that map... the program i used was for 1.2.3, while the server map is 1.2.4. I am trying to re-render it correctly, however the only supported program is being mean ._.

As in 850 Gigabites? This I did not anticipate. 85, maybe I could handle, but 850? Wow indeed. As a side note, thanks again for doing this, but I hate to break this to you, but I said "after" I had finished I would like the map data >.<. This is fine though, as showing people where things are might renew interests.

Nah, most of those streaks were mine when I was both looking for the jungle and setting the boundaries of the map according to a plan I was discussing. Plan won't likely go anywhere so those so called boundaries could be expanded or contracted as seen fit. Although one of those streaks are new to me, as it seems someone found a genuine mushroom biome and created a few lava rings/volcanoes.

As for the that wool thing, might've been me if it was made from black wool. Can't quite remember why I did that though.

EDIT: Now who went and threw a sprite under the arrow pointing out where the giant's house would go? True I likely won't find the time for it, but now I'd feel bad to build over it if I did manage to find the time.

I was typing out 1.5GB's then I switched to 850. The reason I was saying 1.5gbs is because the rendering program unpacked the map as that much.

In other news, I can't be counted on to keep commitments. Not sure if this is OCD or OCPD, or something completely different, but I digress. Groundbreaking well under way on the Giant's house. Now taking reservations on living quarters in the bed, furnace, workbench, and bookshelves. The chest will be a sort of community hub I think. Also welcoming help of the creative or MCedit(new author) variety. I will likely only get as far as the floor and the first level of the walls without further help. Also looking to schedule the "fireworks" burning of the original Giant's house frame for people of the pyromania variety can watch. No TNT though, as that hole took forpineappleing ever to dig, and I want someone else to be able to use it after the frame is gone.

In other, other news, a little down the road, I'd like help making a vid tour of my main castle. This computer can't handle recording stuff and minecraft at the same time. THIS is what it is based on, and roughly the tour route I would like to use. I'm estimating another 50 hours time to get the last of the walling done, and I'm not sure how long it will take to get the background music working [speaking of, is there a mod that allows max SFX volume in a given number of chunks for note blocks if there are over, say 50 of them within a 3 chunk radius?].

Server Changes

While the server is down, I did a little digging. I found that Akliz.net (my host) has been overcharging me for the past... 6 months? I had $55 in credit, and they continued to charge me.

I brought this to the attention of my host, and they promptly took the credit and refunded me for the past 6 months.

Now, I have also been considering changing hosts for the past few weeks. http://redstonehost.com is supposed to be quite good, plus they give you a VPS. (Akliz never gave me access to anything other than craftbukkit) On top of them being better, and giving me a VPS, they are CHEAPER!

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I would like to inform you all that I will be changing hosts in the upcoming month [SIZE=1](Dont pomegranate yourself LSJ!). I will be saving our server, so no worries.

If you guys would be interested in a Terraria server, or anything else I can host on a linux box, let me know![/SIZE]

A Terraria server would be nice.

Here's hoping the MC server can come back sometime soon. I miss playing around by myself all on my lonesome.
