So... an event boss spawned. Look at its power level. Then look at mine. Look at its HP, then back at mine.

Do you think I stand a chance?

H-holy s-shit. My guild member just randomly popped up next to me and gave me two dougi sets. One is worth about 70m per item, the other is worth over 700m! I shat myself, since that's quite a lot of money.

The first one's hat isn't all that impressive, but I like the overall.
http://puu.sh/fJbI

The second, look who I look like now. I THINK this is the most expensive dougi in the game. @_@
 Spoiler

And this is the helmet that he gave me with the previous one. I'm not sure why- it doesn't go with the set.

Lol! And just as I was typing this post, he popped up on another character and gave me a halo.

 Spoiler

I'm impressed by this guy's love for giving stuff away. Especially such expensive items. He just made this noob rich (although, I have no plans on selling this stuff any time soon - however, if someone wants to join me on this game, you may take the Android 19 set or the Saiyaman helmet).

Edit : I had to hotlink a couple of images due to the size limit. ._.

So, I just did a couple of TMQ 4 runs with a guild mate and some people I don't know, so I got some screen shots. Unfortunately, due to the size limit allowed per post, I'll have to hotlink images.

Nappa!
Great Ape Vegeta
Vegeta's power level
Vegeta up close
Bardock's power level
Bardock getting beat up
Bardock all f'ucked up
DBO's original villain (Google Translate says the Chinese characters say his name is "Mira," which is what I thought it was.)
A better look at the original villain

Fun stuff.

And for extra fun, this is my power level before Super Saiyan with some Majin buffs : http://puu.sh/gc6w

For those curious, this is what the graphics look like on their original settings :

That image doesn't exactly do the game much justice - there's a LOT more to the game that makes it look so beautiful, but I think the textures on my clothes is enough to show a drastic change. I can't play like this normally, obviously, because my PC is sh'it. lol It's much more beautiful than my normal settings. =/

This game looks awesome, hopefully it gets localized soon.

Dragon Ball Online Taiwan and Hong Kong are both getting flying soon! The Taiwanese version is under a weekly maintenance right now, which means they MIGHT be implementing it now. I might make a video of it when it is patched in. I'll have to see how smoothly I can record on my dad's computer, though.

I finally achieved Super Saiyan on my original character. It took months to finally find all 7. Hurt

*cough* I kind of chose the wrong emote at the end. It works still, I suppose, since that emote is meant for "good game." lol Its icon is rather misleading, but whatever. The "wahooo!" emote is overused when turning in quests, anyway.

Is this game point and click/tab target? If so, I sadly won't consider playing it (sad for me).

Um... It's typical MMO style, yes. However, it's much more interactive than any other typical MMO control style game I've ever played. I've found it much more enjoyable than the usual snooze fest that is this control type.

Mouse for camera
WASD for movement
Double tap WASD for dashing
Space for jump
Double tap Space for flight
F for attacking (auto-attack)
R for guarding
Z for charging
T for scouter
Tab for switching targets
1~0 and F1 keys (And another row that has no preset keys) for skills/consumables (you can customize the controls to set them to whatever - it doesn't have to be 1 ~ 0 or F1 ~ F12)

This game certainly isn't anything like Dragon Ball Z : Budoukai Tenkaichi 3, but it is an MMORPG. People from around the world connect to it, so the lag would be insane with such a game play type and it would be extremely tedious and terrible for an MMO. Plus, such a control type would end up with people finding some 'shortcut' to victory, using some exploit to win (See GunZ : The Duel). The way it is now allows all people to play on the same level while having minimal problems with influence from lag.

If I had to describe the way this game plays, it's definitely more like Dragon Ball and less like Dragon Ball Z. It still has a lot of Dragon Ball Z elements to it, but it is by far closer to Dragon Ball in gameplay.

Also, if anyone is curious about the classes in the game, here's how it goes :

RaceClassMaster Class
HumanMartial ArtistSword Master
HumanMartial ArtistFighter
HumanSpiritualistTurtle Hermit
HumanSpiritualistCrane Hermit
NamekianWarriorShadow Knight
NamekianWarriorDark Warrior
NamekianDragon ClanDende Priest
NamekianDragon ClanPoko Priest
MajinMighty MajinUltimate Majin
MajinMighty MajinGrand Chef Majin
MajinWonder MajinPlasma Majin
MajinWonder MajinKarma Majin

You choose your class upon character creation and then you obtain your Master Class at level 30 after becoming an adult. You can choose to forever be a child, but that means you will never have a Master Class. You can still obtain transformations and everything else obtainable through wishes.

Humans = DPS / Ranged (PvE)
  • Sword Masters are basically #1 at PvP and are #1 DPS in the game. They hit very hard and have high accuracy, but they're like glass cannons, as Humans have the lowest HP in the game, so they can die pretty easily. It takes a good player to play it properly.

  • Fighters are, I think, second at DPS, yet are more PvE oriented than Sword Masters and have better survivability than Sword Masters. They have a really good dodge/avoidability rate and there are Fighter-only potions in the game that increases your dodge by 200%, which basically makes a well-geared Fighter nearly untouchable. Fighters can also use Instant Transmission, while Sword Masters can't. Fighters still perform exceptionally well at PvP and if the player knows how to use it properly and can gear their guy properly, they can still come out as #1.

  • Turtle Hermits are amazing at PvE - probably the best in the game at it. While they're not AS PvP/DPS oriented as their Martial Artist counterparts, but they have the best area of effect skills I've seen in the game. They're fragile, like most games' ranged classes, but they pack one hell of a punch. A good Turtle Hermit can get away from you in PvP and beat you without you realizing what the hell is going on.

  • Crane Hermits are about the same as Turtle Hermits, but they're slightly weaker in PvE than their Turtle Hermit counterpart, yet they have supportive skills (like the ability to heal party members, though not as strong of a heal as the Namekian priests) and amazing debuff skills. Any good Crane can easily come out on top in PvP, as they can basically freeze you and pulverize you and if you manage to survive long enough for that effect to wear off, they'll just cast another debuff on you to make you walk so extremely slow and make your character not able to do anything, so unless you can get to that Crane before they use these debuffs, you can basically consider yourself the loser. I f'ucking hate going against these guys in PvP...

Namekians = Tank/Support
  • Shadow Knights are the strongest Namekian class. They have amazing defense and Namekians inherently have the highest HP in the game. I'm not too knowledgeable about this class with the exception that any well-geared Shadow Knight is basically unstoppable in PvP unless they meet a very strong Sword Master that knows how to use their character properly.

  • Dark Warriors are the #1 tanks of the game. They have the absolute highest defense in the game and the highest health in the game, I believe. They really lack damage, but they have extremely amazing defensive capabilities to help them survive extremely easily.

  • Dende Priests are the best healers of the game. They can heal both your LP (HP) and EP (Mana) as well as revive you if you die - basically the support that Bishops are supposed to give in MapleStory. Dende Priests can also use Instant Transmission, like Fighters. Unfortunately, Dende Priests have almost no way to defend themselves as they have very, very weak attacks, so they die pretty easily.

  • Poko Priests are like Battle Bishops. They can heal party members like Dende Priests, but their heals are weaker. However, they have better attacks, allowing them to level-up and survive solo easier than Dende Priests. They can also summon dragons to help them attack in battle.

Majins = Supportive/Buffers

I really have no knowledge of this race, aside from they have the single best buffs in the game. People love to have Majins (I'm not sure which one has the best buffs - I THINK Grand Chef, but I could be wrong about that) because they can increase your stats by extremely good amounts. Majins are the middle ground for PvP, PvE and survivability among the three races.

Oh, and as far as transformations go, Humans have it the worst (Martial Artists at least - Spiritualist have a much easier time sustaining it, due to their inheritantly high EP recovery rate). Super Saiyan drains insane amounts of EP yet gives a lot less stats than the Majin and Namekian transformations. HOWEVER, Humans in Super Saiyan can use all of their skills (with the exception of Kaiouken, Dragon Buffs and a few skills that can't be used while in a transformed state, which are few in number), while Namekians and Majins are limited to one or two attacks during their transformation. Also, Super Saiyan and Kid Buu forms can be sustained forever (if the person is using the right gear), while Great Namekian only lasts for 10 minutes. All transformations have a 60 minute cool down, but the cool down timer starts the instant it's casted, unlike Kaiouken, which has a cooldown that starts after the skill is lost/turned off.

Here are the Dragon Ball Online cinematics. I had forgotten about them. They're both relatively old - Age 1,000 being there from the conception of the game and Base of Tenkaichi being there for a year or so. I uploaded them just for people who may not have seen them yet.

Also, as I type this, I am patching my game for the flying patch that was just implemented. I would've already had flying by now, but Polantaris didn't tell me that the game was up 20 minutes early, so instead of it taking about 15 minutes to patch, it's taking me about 3 hours to patch. >_> With the amount of players that'll be flooding the quests now, I have no chance of getting the flying skill within this next week. Polantaris, however, having logged in 2 hours ago, either has all of the quests done already or is near completion, so they have flying. :|

I remember first reading about the Dragon Ball MMO and I hoped it would get localized, but when I read it would never happen...I became sad. Looking at these posts makes me even more sad. Frown

Who said it would never happen?

NTL, the developer, stated they're working on getting a western release. I have no idea when that will happen, but they did say they're working on it.
