Changing e-mail through fax form - does it still work?
#1
I've been inactive for a very long time now. Wanted to come back to check things out but ran into a few problems right away.

After all that time I don't really remember the password I used for my Maple account. Ofcourse a password reset would usually do the trick but here's where my 2nd problem comes in. I don't have access to the registered e-mail address anymore so I can't receive the verification mail. Guessing the password will be useless as well since my account is probably locked because it's been inactive for so long. And I'd still have to change the e-mail address anyway.

Already contacted Nexon the last time I was active to change it, and I got a form from them that I could fax together with a copy of my ID. Wasn't able to do so at the time and I left again after a few days so I never got to fax it. But now I'm back again I really want to change my e-mail address since I have no access at all to my account right now.

So my question now, does the fax form still work? I've already sent it, and the number definately still works but I just want to know if I can actually expect my e-mail getting changed with it. If not, is there any other way to get access to my account again? It's weird you can't even contact Nexon's customer support without having access to the account..

Well, I've yet to fully confirm if it actually works still, but their customer support told me to send them a fax in order to have my email changed as well. I'm not sure how long it takes, since I just sent the fax an hour ago, but I would assume that the service is still available. Oh, and I actually did get a reply from a GM, not just an automated message.

If you can't even log in from the website, then I'm not sure if my above answer would still apply, but this is all the information I can give you. Sorry I wasn't of more help, but I felt obligated to give you what little information I had since I'm in a very similar situation.

Edit: Looks like the fax method still works. My registered email was just changed, and I only sent the fax in a few hours ago.

Thanks! At least I know that it works now. Glad they helped you so quickly, it's been 3 days for me now since I've sent it and I haven't received any message from them yet. Wonder if they even received it since I sent it with some online fax site. Wouldn't know where to find an actual fax system around here, no one uses them. Maybe I should try sending it again but it does say it can take up to 2 weeks. Just weird that yours is changed within a few hours. :p

Edit: Did they ask you for any additional info in the ticket or did they only give you the form to fax? Cause I remember them asking some things (birthday, secret questions, registered name) before I got the form 7-8 months ago. Not sure if they still need that additional info now.

Thank god it's working, my real problem now is to find a fax, nobody uses them nowadays.

you know, try staples, local post offices, office depot...fedex, they all have faxes. Even your school should. You will get charged for long distance though, which isn't much.

Does anyone have the form? Google has suspended my security question option twice because I happened to choose a bad question the answer to which I forgot.

Staples' typical rate was a 1.75 for the first page out-of-state for reference. Additional pages were a buck. (At least when I used to work there.)

Yeah I've done it, it took about 3-4 weeks for it to change, they'll send an email to the corrected email to verify it.

3-4 weeks? Sad Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer as well then. Same question for you though, did you have to give them any additional info or do they just need the fax?

You just fax it that's all they need. They just a signature and an ID to make absolutely sure that it's you.

You need to allow 3-4 weeks, it's random depending on volume. Took me the entire month of august.

It is a bit weird that he sent it 2 days later than me and got it changed within a few hours though. But I guess I'll just wait a week or 2. Also thanks for answering my question, glad I don't need any other info since I can't send tickets from my account.

Edit: Managed to get my old e-mail address back. I basically have the same provider right now as I had back then (they just a different name now) but the old e-mail alias isn't used anymore by them. They were kind enough to remake the account for me though. So all is good now, I have full access to my account again. Still no word from Nexon meanwhile. :p
