A lot of those changes don't seem very... good.Maybe the cloaking but besides. Removing a damage multiplier from corruptors isn't very good. Removing utilization of the Thor isn't very good either. Especially since Protoss essentially get a flying one. And who knows if it can still be magic boxed.

I don't think the Thor can shoot up anymore. They made it have an Ultimate AoE attack from the campaign or something like that. Like I said before, I liked the Thor as a unit, why would you ruin it and make it a hero character? >.>

yeah you get the derpy walkers, but couldn't you have done that with the Thors instead? The Thor isn't really worth it if it's in it's stages right now, IMO. Why get a 600/600, ridiculous food monster, when you could just as easily get more siege tanks and essentially do the same thing? Yeah it's mobile (sort of), but really, when are you ever going to need a massive Giant walker that can only do massive damage to ground?

Sorry, meant who knows if the Tempest can be magic boxed. The new thor is broken before it came out. The fact it's still big, and doesn't have anti air makes it a perfect target for mutas. Completely not worth getting, even if it can essentially nuke on sight.

I know, hahah. Their logic makes no sense.

"The Thor currently has a few issues. It's too big and slow and you can only conceivably get two or three of them. Therefore, we decided to make the Thor bigger, slower, and create a global limit of one."

A+ logic there.

I don't understand why they want a hero unit in the game. It doesn't make sense for Starcraft o_O

The worst part of this is that they tried it with the Mothership. And it didn't work. Now they remove the Mothership and turn the Thor into one. Hopefully the Warhound does better. I wonder if it's massive, since if it isn't Terran will no longer have a non-hero massive ground unit.

I also heard the Immortal was buffed, which I hope makes them a lot more useful because I really like the unit. Maybe they could reduce the cost/build time a little so they're easier to mass so people have a reason to use them instead of Colossi. Tempest looks good, though I really hope it has a good ground attack, Void Rays can be great but aren't enough of a reason to really focus on air, although since the Oracle is made at the Stargate you should no longer be at a disadvantage for going air instead of robo.

Well, a Carrier is only slightly more expensive than a Tempest (50 more minerals) so it's not really massable. Hopefully it's anti air gives it a reason to be made. Oracle isn't really that great late game though. I feel like it would fair much better if it came out of a robo. I still see Voidrays as the main air unit for Protoss. Of course, this all depends on how good the anti ground capabilities of a tempest is. We know that 3 Tempests can kill off about 20 or so mutas without really losing much health, so maybe they'll be made to protect colosi, but that would be a pretty gas heavy build. If the range of a tempest is greater than corruptors and vikings though, it might be viable.

From what i've seen the tempest's range isn't that good which makes it out-microable with both vikings and corruptors :l
But it'll prolly deal with mutas really well.

But i really hate removing overseers... Sure we get that ocular thing, but that'll require it to be teched to after getting lair(?) which makes DT map control a horror to deal with early on :C atleast for me.

after 3 months of inactivity, two race changes (zerg -> protoss for a few weeks -> zerg), and just overall being busy, i am now a high bronze zerg. (well that's mostly the fault of my friend who's been playing on my account for the past 2 months, i was a mid-gold protoss). i've been playing a lot this week, i easily stomp high silvers and low-mid golds, so i expect to move right back up to gold. i have two key weaknesses: marine/tank/thor and marine/tank/starport.

i cannot counter marine/tank/thor for the life of me. all my losses are to this build. with terran i almost always pump out lings and blings the minute my lair finishes and take 4 gas, then save up for mutas. i think my problem with marine/tank/thor or starport pushes is that pushes normally come later than just marine/tank/medivac, so i underproduce either mutas or lings. i also don't do much harassing when i see marine/tank in general.

any advice or practice? my ZvP is more or less fine, though i rarely ever deal with colossi in ZvP so i don't know how i would do against them (roach/infestor?). ZvZ is probably my best matchup since it just comes naturally to me.

Expand more? In the time it takes a terran to get a nice army of thor/tank/marine, you should definitely be on three bases at least.

I thought the Viper was Lair Tech only and didn't require any other buildings.

Oh, i expected it to be spire-tech due to being flying, but if that's the case all my worries are gone. (ala how obs is robo tech and raven is starport tech)

Thanks! Smile

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that it was just unlocked at Lair Tech. If it requires Spire, that's a pretty gigantic kick to Zerg, basically like how Protoss are forced into Robo Tech every game because there is no alternative detection, except it's extremely expensive and long build time, not to mention if you're going for Spire, you're sacrificing gas into a Viper instead of Mutalisks. I believe Swarm Host comes from the Infestor Pit though.

Overall, the Protoss units suck. Oracle is gimmicky timing push oriented, with no feasible use in the early/mid-game since it's a large(200/200 ea + stargate) investment down a tech-path that can't help you defend timings. Replicant is just saying Protoss units suck so get Terran and Zerg Units, and just as gimmicky. Unless they give Tempest some way to catch Vikings, they should never see use in PvT like Carriers since Marines would shut them down even harder since there's no interceptors to disrupt AI/tank damage for other units. I can see them being feasible against Corruptor/Mutalisk though if they can achieve a critical mass soon enough to AoE a group of corruptors, assuming they don't deal weaker damage to non-light air. In which case, what the hell is the point of making capital ship to attack only Mutalisks?

Yea i checked some other sites and they say it just requires lair.

Thank god, i was so scared about DTs being able to keep me off more than 2 bases for ages.

Thanks for the information! Calms me down a lot.

And yea i hope they replace the replicator and oracle with something else :l i just don't personally like them. But well, it's still not in beta so let's hope for the best, i want a nice and balanced game.

Also barcraft is starting to appear in denmark, hoping for one near me soon! Sounds like an awesome idea Smile

Thats the thing, I think she'll become some sort of human zerg protoss hybrid and therefore superior to the dark ones (thats what they're called right?) but how they'll do it only time will tell, god SC II makes all the other blizzard stories look like kiddy pool deep (well don't really know with diablo) or maybe is the cliffhanger, either way they know how to sell their pomegranate.
