I think since V99. As far as I know, I don't see it in extractions and such up until V99.

uhm, knowing stuff doesn't make you illegit, very reason why i check hacking sites and don't even deny it, knowledge is a great weapon.

I understand, but I was always under the impression people dubbed the original "GM" scrolls as such, because they were only accessible through GMs, until Nexon was retarded and put them in as an obtainable item.

Your point? Players want to be informed and know what's coming. Nexon doesn't do pomegranate so we have to pretty much look out for ourselves.

I'm glad I quit the game after my friend getting hacked. I give MapleStory less than a year before everything dies. kMS will be the only server apart from any private server.

To the normal player what does this mean?

A communal moan with BL/alliance/whoever about the state of the game, flippant talk of quitting for a while, furtive (not really) discussions about how to use the exploits to their advantage indirectly or directly without actually using the programs themselves as if that somehow makes it okay, and some downtime/a notice from Nexon.

What can the normal player actually do to help stop such exploits? Spam up the Nexon forums with as much information as possible, and hope beyond hope Nexon doesn't lock the thread for "hacking discussion". That's about it as far as I can tell and it is by no means reliable.

i can't say i dislike this being released, aparently it's the last method of warping around, so if nexon gets off it's butt and fixes it, you won't have people getting in while you are CZaking/HTing/empressing and map crash you.

or they do nothing and now more people will crash you :|

You can only do this if you are VIP on the other forums. Which means it's still gonna take a while for it to be patched since so few are doing it.

I know it isn't a crime to go on a hacking website to find out information but.. (doesn't say cause of site rules). The smart ones will know what I mean.

We couldn't care less if X member hacks or not, if he keeps it to himself and comes here to give info on that "dark" side of Maple you should be happy to be informed. The hacks are gonna exist whether people here know about/use it, might as well benefit from a good source of information.

You're right. Legitimate players should not be lurking (or participating) on hacking boards.
That's Nexon's job.
Seriously.
They should have VIP membership at every one of those pestholes, and make it so every hack is blocked within hours of being up for sale.
Instead, they haven't a clue. They don't know a thing about private hacks, and they don't even notice public hacks until the community screams about them for several days.
Not too surprising, actually. They can't read their own code to fix their own stupid bugs, so they've probably no hope in hell of reading hackers' code to discover how it's done and how to stop it.
