Yu-Gi-Oh thread
DualReaver Wrote:Here's something interesting I just read:
From http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Discard

I never knew that was the way it worked, and I've seen people using this technique before, so I guess it's not well known. By the way, anyone wanna duel?

another interesting one, if they are discarded from the hand because you have 7 cards or more, it's effect also doesn't activate.

Someone on DN liked my Flying Fish deck so much that he asked for a deck list just now. xD I feel so accomplished.

Might get on later and redo a dark paladin deck will made on kcvds a long time ago. Was fun to use.

I was disappoint when I read about that back when DW monsters just came out in the game, my RL friend and I built a DW deck and mass sadface ensued.

Yeah, dws would be pretty op if they worked like that. I've had so many people just leave once I show them the ruling.

It's only game mechanics .. <.<

If its ever "Do this. XX" or "Do this to XX," it's almost always a cost.
The only exception that I know of is Fabled Raven, who's discard is an effect.

The problem was..
Brron attacks over Tengu and inflicts 100 damage.
Brrons effect activates to discard 1 card.
He discards a grapha, effect activates.
We were unsure whether or not grapha would be able to destroy tengu or if tengu would not be summoned yet for Grapha to destroy.

I'm pretty sure Grapha would activate to destroy after Tengu is summoned.
So I probably won't upload it.

Battle Step: Brron declares an attack on Tengu.
Sub-Step 4: Damage is applied and Tengu is considered "destroyed by battle."
Sub-Step 5: Brron's effect activates and discards Grapha.
Sub-Step 6: Grapha's effect resolves but has nothing to target since Tengu was destroyed by battle.
Sub-Step 7: Tengu is removed from the field and sent to to the graveyard. Tengu's effect activates.

WELL that is interesting.
I guess I'll upload it.

 Spoiler
The quality looks even worse in this game.

Oh man -- I love it when I'm playing chain burn and it's the other person's turn and I'm vulnerable and they summon their big monsters and they're about to attack and win and then I activate my chain and burn out their LP just in time. Big "nope." Haha.

pretty sure it activates the way you did it.

you attack, defeat tengu, then discard.

afterwards effects activate in the order of "obligatory yours (none), obligatory opponent (summon tengu), choice yours (grapha, "can" destroy a monster), choice opponent.

leave a question in the yugioh wikia though, they usually ansdwer it within the hour.

X-Saber Palomuro and X-Saber Axel on the field, a Palomuro in the graveyard, Spirit Barrier and one Solemn Wishes activated, and one monster in attack mode on your opponent's side of the field = Infinite Draw = Exodia

And I'll watch a duel, I'm played out from spending like 3 hours doing Exodia infinite combos and getting like 20k life points.
