Okay, now a serious question for the christians here. Is it not hypocritical to follow some of what the bible tells you as though it is law, but not all of it? If I were to follow a religion I'd think it'd have to be all or nothing, y'know?

Applying what's in the bible literally would be stupid, you don't take morals and rules which were sound and good 2000 years ago and apply them to today. The book was certainly not written by god himself and neither was it passed along faithfully these 2000 years.
The bible does have nice things in it, you just need to know how to adapt things that were from the culture of 2000 years ago and are different now.

@Satellite, if the thread is going out of the good direction you should push it back on track, moving it somewhere would be stupid as this still has nice potential for discussion.

Well there are those that do pick and choose in the literal sense (E.G. Liviticus) and they're called republicans (BA-DUM-CHING). No but seriously there are people who say things like the only way to know something is write is if it's an absolute morel from god (I'm not saying that's every christian FYI).

Humans are inherinitly sinful, the whole point is to overcome the desires of the flesh and become closer to God. I'd go on but cats got my tongues lol.
