My Letter of Intent

I'm applying for an exchange semester... and they told me to do a letter explaining why I want to be in that University... at the end I could write this:

"Why I wish to study at East Carolina University?

I have not had the opportunity to study in a different country, but I have had the chance to travel around several countries. I consider very important the experience of seeing other cultures and learning about their customs and traditions. I believe that visiting different places makes the difference between wanting to be better and being conformed with what you have. Now if I am given the opportunity to study in a foreign University, I will have the knowledge to expand my opportunities and have a better future.

When I started to make preparations for my exchange, the East Carolina University caught my attention, especially their program in Computer science. Since then I have been doing everything in order to be accepted there. This University has the best academic profile that my career requires. If I want to become better, I think this University will help me achieve my goals.

I think having the experience to live and study in a foreign country will give me the ability and experience to perform better in my life, and I consider that East Carolina University will give me the tools to become what I truly desire.

I have heard several comments from people who have been at this University, and they have given excellent reviews full of enthusiasm and good experiences. This give me the certainty that East Carolina University is the best choice for my exchange, and if the University accepts me, I will give my best performance to be worthy of being part of this institution."


I'll accept suggestions... what do you think?? I need to put something else??

Part of the reason why exchange programs exist is that there's a belief that a higher cultured campus is a better one. If this were not true, then no exchange programs would exist. Other than supplying your best performance to be a part of the institution, which any person interested in this university would hopefully offer the same, say something which sets you apart from other foreign exchange students. An exchange implies a two way street. You know you'll be getting a good education with them, but what will they be getting?
