Windows7's Maple compatibility

Help please? I'm trying Web Launch now, not expecting much.

Windows 7 32bit Ultimate, if it helps.

I didn't want to take the result of this option, hoping it would be obvious that it didn't work, but okay.

[COLOR="Green"]I was actually about to make a thread for this, but I'm just gonna hijack this.

Whenever I try to run Maplestory, nothing happens.

I click "Start Game" on the website and it brings up the "Not Compatable" box. I hit run program, and then it sits there and does nothing.

I also tried running GameLauncher out of my Maplestory folder. Upon clicking "Start Game" the window promtly freezes and says Not Responding.[/COLOR]

I have tried all compatibilities available, turned off firewall, run as administrator and basically all I can come up with off the top of my head.

I have the 64 bit windows 7 bud, and I had the same message as you, only when I clicked
run program it works fine.. I wonder if it has something to do with being 32 bit?
I run the home premium version on my laptop if that makes a difference.

I'll try installing different versions of Win7s as a last resort, lulz.

Oh and I forgot to mention (probably doesn't matter) but I always use the web-start.
OS=W7 home premium 64-bit laptop.

Another thing I would do before trying an alternate operating system is to check windows
updates for any useful important/optional updates.

I'm on windows 7 too and had this same problem after the last patch.
All I did was untick the compatibility mode option for MapleStory.exe. Have you tried this too ?

Just a note, HackShield shuts down attempts to run MS in compatibility mode.

Try running as Administrator (see first SS) and without compatibility mode.

Strange, I initially ran it without compatibility mode, didn't work hence I switched to using. I guess one of the fixes I did actually worked. Oh well, thanks guys.

Lagging so much though, weird, maybe the incompatibility causes my memory to stretch too much.

Solution:

rename ur gamelauncher.exe to anything, make it maple.exe, nexon.exe, auhae.exe, just rename it, make a new shortcut and done, problem solved.

Or another solution:

right click your desktop > new > shortcut (just create shortcut in ur desktop)
add this: C:\nexon\maplestory\maplestory.exe gamelaunching . Done, problem solved, dont need to log using website.
I assume your maplestory is installed on the common folder;

The only way for me to even attempt again is to end the process tree on Maplestory.exe through the Task Manager.

i haven't played maplestory on my w7 comp, but i got it to work when i changed the settings for all users (the little button at the bottom), in that new menu run as administrator && windows xp SP3 compatibility mode.

well it worked for me, making a new shortcut, and putting gamelauching at the end, will start maple like the old way. and it is how im playing maple, or logging form website.

sometimes when i dc/log off, i have to close maplestory.exe process on the task manager, it seems that win7 can't kill the process after you close maple anymore.

Actually I have been doing BOTH of these on Windows XP Prof SP2. So if anything, I'll leave a heads-up here that this did not help solve the problem, or at least it did only in conjunction with one of the things I did.

GameLaunching is actually case sensitive.

Mabye make sure to allow/exception for your firewall, and DEP? That includes both the game.exe and the hackshield.exe

well, for me, both of the methos i listed worked, i have win7 ultimate 32bits.
