[Notice] Big Foot Glitch Abuse

I don't see how it not being able to be misted will make pendants inflate. a party of say a Drk a Pally and some ranged classes can easily kill it in less than 10 minutes. Yesterday I did a pianus with a drk with max zerk and I in about 15? And that's including a ton of guards. It has the same hp, more or less, and can be pinned and you probably won't ever have to even pot. The only thing that made getting a toe hard was being ksed. I agree with Isaac that it might not have the boss flag to give us more options. Crimsonwood Keep in general has been different from the traditional areas of the game. It would make sense if it was changed so that each class could use their skills but not to have a significant advantage over every other class as mist and web have been doing.

It'd odd how they didn't use the test server to test the patch that really needed to be tested - a brand new area, to make sure it plays as intended. It was probably a case of either wanting it to be a complete surprise when it comes out for everyone, or wanting to get it out as soon as possible, knowing that we've been waiting for it.

I wonder if its going to apply to people that Mist/Web it. o.O"

But to Yellonde people that "glitched" their way up using bigfoot (if Nexon's addressing this), then thank God - that server needed a break, lol.

But srsly - Im done with Bigfoot. I cannot go on anymore killing that thing, I actually gave up killing em just yesterday.

No. Go on. Kill some more. I dare you.

Easy solution: make all damage over time damage cap at 3k damage per second. This includes poison, burn, frostbite, and shadow web. They really don't have a reason to do over 3k damage per second in the first place, and this way, certain classes would only have a small advantage by dealing some somewhat decent simultaneous damage.

Edit: (almost pulled a nexon) Remove mortal blow's autokill and make marksmen's snipe always deal automatic, weapon cancel-piercing 99999 damage instead of autokilling non-bosses. It would still let them one-hit weapon cancels goby houses and also let them deal a bit more damage during bosses' weapon cancels, which they need, so it's two birds with one stone.

Leaves Wrote:I disagree. It would not be easier.

Nexon has had TOO MANY emergency patches in the last couple of months. They are trying to avoid this wherever possible - it only leads to trouble, frustrated users, frustrated Nexon... etc.

If possible, they will try to hold out on a patch for at least 2 weeks, and include it with the next content. You're right - all they have to do is check a box or uncheck a box. But releasing a full patch just for that is quite silly. Even though they've done it before, I'm sure they would not like to do it again.

I think a majority of the non-glitchers would agree with me when I say that I'd rather have had an emergency patch then to have had this go on for so long.

Maybe you would rather, but I am not sure Nexon would rather. ^^;

I'm going to lol if they ban Yellonde "glitchers." What a pomegranate company, seriously.

I actually kind of agree with Issac with this one. Usually when Nexon America tries new things, it tends to blow up in their face in an unsuspected way. I'd be interesting to see if they can pull of limiting, or abolishing the % damage, yet keep all the other status effects that don't break the game.

Though this does raise some questions on how they're going to limit stunning skills, like Paralyze, so the challenge doesn't become "just killing another monster".

This sounds like a damn fine idea, but is this sort of thing possible? I don't think anything like this has ever occurred. I would think a damage cap would be all or nothing. I would think the only ways to limit DoT skills would be to make them not work at all, or to limit all damage.

Incidentally, this very thing could also be applied to bosses to give Mages greater worth. Even an extra 3k DPS would be great for Mages, Mages who are lucky to get to 20k DPS given the fearfulness others often have of their full skillset. But that's neither here nor there.

And for people talking about rollbacks... there have been times in the past where certain characters have been affected by rollbacks and others have not. With adequate logs of who has abused this mistake, they could rollback those characters alone, I'm sure. I would expect they could even rollback exp and levels only, thus making the items/mesos owned by all players in the economy not be affected at all.

I'm sorry Isaac, but you don't intentionally not put a boss flag on a monster like Bigfoot. That was an error on their part.

That's what I was suggesting as well, that is a method of capping the damage dealt by those skills. I do know for a fact they can make it so that monsters can only be hit by certain skills, so I don't see why they couldn't make it so that certain skills could NEVER hit. If you do that then just make it so that Damage over time attacks can't land.

Again, it's a method of trying out a new idea that didn't work as intended. Still a glitch, still being abused, but you don't go and accidentally forget to tick the Boss flag either.

Think back on this and compare it to boomers and you can tell it's the same situation. I can guarantee next time they plan something like this, though, they'll test poison. This is twice their cool ideas have been ruined by it.

^(referring to Shippo the Fox, took too long to post =p) They wanted to try out something different, but unfortunately, they totally forgot poison mist and shadow web existed.

Yeah, this would be a great way to make archmages better at bossing with their demons. They could even go as far as to keep the element-changing part of it there. If bosses were weak to fire, ifrit could deal more damage, and mob-clearing F/Ps could help deal a bit more damage with meteor. It would also kill the stupid resistances that plagued certain bosses, such as ergoth, upon reaching 120.

I sure hope they fix the Bigfoot Power Guard glitch. When I have PG on, it shows the damage I should be taking, about 6k something, but I die in one hit even if I have 7.6k HP.

Of course if they change it to a Boss, PG won't help me much at all.

I just can't see it as trying something new. Its not just Web and Mist. You have Venom, Demon, Stun, and Doom. Which completely takes away any difficulty it has. Its basically Phantom Forest's Anego with around the same or somewhat higher touch damage and weaker Unique attack.

I see it more like when you take a math test and you ace everything, even the complicated stuff, but when it gets handed back to you a couple days later you realized you missed a simple negative sign making the entire problem wrong.

The way I see it, they intended it for a really strong monster just wandering the forest. Whether or not is was supposed to be a boss is questionable, but it seems logical if they wanted it freezeable/stunnable. It's just a weird monster walking around the forest with a ton of hp, touch damage, and speed. Lita said to beware of the monster in the forest that killed all those people.

I suggested something similar in one of the threads. Keep all items, mesos, scroll success/failures, quests, ETC the same as they are. Extend NX by a week or w/e the time is that it could be considered "wasted". And then just roll back the EXP/Levels.

I was also thinking they could do a mass rollback(same description as above) to when Yellonde was released, and the only really pissed people would be the Yellonde grind addicts and those who have been training a lot recently. However, since they won't be fixing this for about a week or so(knowing how long it takes Nexon to do things :/ ), this isn't practical at all.

At least they did aknowledge it.

Go on Sleepywood and look at what they're using for a Heal damage formula (unless they leeched off us...) and compare it to mine in the Magician section, then say that logic doesn't exist. Logic gave us 4.8*INT, the absence of it gave them 0.0000021304986713.

About Cyanne's comment on Snipe, monsters in the future are not going to be limited to <100k HP. Already we have Crimson Guardians and Time Temple mobs. A better way could be to possibly scale it to level. Have it do damage about equal to 1000*your level, and autokill if it has less than that much HP left. So a level 200 could autokill a 400k HP monster. Snipe deserves it, because, well, it's Snipe. It's supposed to be a 1-hit move; it has a cooldown for a reason.

So it's not trying something new to make a monster that requires teamwork? That speed is insane and it can easily kill a NL when they have to recast their buffs. hence it being able to be stunned makes it something that say the most often neglected bossing class besides mages, the Paladin would be helpful for. Another thing is since when was anything in maple hard? lol
