Media Center...?

I'm going off to college soon and I'm looking for a certain product, if such a product exists. I need this product to be able to do the following:

1) Have upwards of 1 Terabyte of storage on it.

2) Can connect to my laptop via USB 2.0 to drag and drop files onto it. I do not want stupid annoying software to use.

3) Has an HDMI port

4) From the HDMI port, it can output 720p and 1080p content from the storage on the device. It would be able to read the formats of the videos, .mkv being a common example of a high definition format for computers.

I'm not sure if this is like a media center type of thing, but I don't even know if something like this actually exists.

I notice is has USB 2.0 MPEG support, but I don't understand what that means. Maybe if I put MEPGs in the root of the device selected it will play them?

I'd say that's the best you could get. Keep in mind that a HDD is not included.
