A request-Gmail notifier?

Does anybody know a good gmail notifier?

Here are the requirements.

Must be instantaneous or as close as possible from when the message shows up in my inbox. My current one takes about 20 mins to show up, and for my needs that is unacceptable.
Must be from a trusted source that wont sell my email/info. I have sensitive information in the account that cannot be compromised.
Must have a notifier that will show up on my screen alerting me that i have a new email as soon as it shows up in my inbox.

This is because I waste so much time clicking my gmail tab every 5 seconds, and that I cant spare screen real estate to have it constantly open on top of my windows, or I dont have 2 monitors to run my gmail when I am using a full-screen program.

What browser are you using?

I am currently using chrome.

Rarely I will switch to firefox when I need to use specialized add-ons though.

not instantaneous.. Three times out of 3 I caught it in my inbox before the mail checker caught it, making it useless to me.

There is no need for someone to instantaneously know that they got a new email.

Not my need, but something i occasionally do which makes it advantageous

This. I always used to use Google Chat as my Vent (it was only between me and my friend), and I loved the extra email notification capability.

finally back at my personal compy, so ill install GC now. GMAIL notifier doesnt catch anything before I do.

Thunderbird, then ignore your email window (or just close it).
