Evan Coming 12/17 tomorrow // and .... more Q/A
BombsAway Wrote:No. It means he's a horrible bi-product of the story. Just like the Weapons in Final Fantasy 7 were a bi-product of Sephiroth's revival. Just because it's a result of something that happens in the story doesn't make it a main focus of the story.

It's not a horrible bi-product of the story. After reading the storyline they invented for it and seeing its death animation I think that they have plans to continue the storyline about Pink Bean and there will be more things related to it, therefore related to the Black Mage as well. When the Pink Bean dies, he doesn't really DIE but he goes back to his dimension instead. I'm pretty sure that we'll know more about this dimension soon.. it might be the dimension where Black Mage currently is, or it could just be an invention of NEXON to explain where Pink Bean comes from. The Mirror of the Goddess allowed Kirston to open a portal to this dimension for a mistake, while he was trying to revive the Black Mage, and that's where Pink Bean came from.
They might as well never explain what this dimension is and what's in it. But they could also relate it to the Black Mage, continuing the Pink Bean-Black Mage storyline, like I'm thinking they could do.

Remember that Pink Bean was called "the Black Mage's underling" (does it mean minion?) in the description of the Pink Bean's chair. Which means that they could as well release more things related to those two.

FrozNlite Wrote:Sorry, this is an MMORPG, not an RPG. The game never ends. Just like how KMS is now saying "ohai the Balrog NEVER DIED WAHAHA!", so too can Nexon go "THE BLACK MAGICIAN WAS ACTUALLY AN APPRENTICE" or "THE BLACK MAGICIAN WAS A VERSALIAN SOLDIER" or something like that. The company can and will create anything it needs to continue a story as long as there's interest in playing the story.

That's what they're probably going to do, yeah.

P.s.: Balrog already tells us that he doesn't die and that he'll come back in the message in its die speech..

Concerning HP.

Personally I find it hard to accept that without (1) spending thousands of dollars or without (2)comprising your damage so much you'd become a joke, you as a particular class can NEVER experience certain bosses or events such as Toad, Pink Bean etc.

It's a sound argument for these classes to accept low HP as a con if there are workarounds like dodging, HP gear and leveling up more. However the problem is that there are still parts of the game that would have to exclude us if we don't do either (1) or (2).

Dodging Toad's and Pink Bean's attacks a nigh impossible, HP gear can never be enough to change anything, and the highest HP ranged classes can obtain is 4800 without any washing.

This is a bias against these jobs and a clear issue that needs to be looked into.

With so many more empty spots in our equipment UI, they can implement job exclusive rings that raise HP by percentage for example.

I really hope that they double(or triple) ranged chars base hp when they look into upgrading the classes in the "big update" half way through next year.

There's a lot of things they're going to look into (i hope) in the balance update, but it's already obvious that they are not going to change HP values.

First of all, they make too much money off AP resets to care. Second of all, changing something like this that's already implemented is a huge pain in the ass. How would they change it? Give all ranged classes 1.5x the HP they have now? That would benefit people who already washed more than those who didn't. Just slap on 2k HP or something? You KNOW they're going to f'uck that up.

Maybe they should just stop using higher damage as a way to make stuff harder. My Paladin is already a 2hko where I train and there's not a lot more they can add before even warriors won't be able to use new maps. Anego does enough damage that I can't solo it, ever, and even with HB I'll need to be 18x.
