Have you ever played Pokemon like it's "meant" to be played?

I am talking about the storyline the whole deal with treating your Pokemon with love and kindness and s'hit.

Even back when I was a wee lad playing Pokemon Blue I never played like that, I always forced my Pokemon to keep fighting no matter what even if it was a fire type vs. a water type.

It should come as no surprise that Gold/Silver from Gold/Silver was my hero, until they turned him into a platypus at the end.

When I first played Blue version, I always kept my Pokemon at full health via potions or Pokecenter, and healed them as soon as they were inflicted with a negative status.

i never bought antidotes or anything until the elite 4. i just let them die and move on to a diff pokemon to train.

I used to play a game: Can I get to Nurse Joy without the poison hitting directly in front of her. I hated that screen blip every 4 steps...

Fact: In my last Crystal playthrough that took like... 2~3 days, I didn't use a single pot. Pokecenter does the rest.

I always had this weird obsession with being fully loaded for anything, which is showing itself in other games as well. I took my pokemon to the center all the time simply because I didn't trust the effectiveness of the potions.
Even if I just ran from battles and there was no actual fighting involved I still took them to the center and healed them. They might've gotten tired from all that running Frown

Kinda - I raised my party of 6 evenly and tried to keep them all alive. I didn't bother catching most of the ones I didn't like, and a lot of them just sat in a box for life.

Mmm All I remember is I didn't know how PC boxes worked xD so I got stuck with the first 6 pokemon I caught, and decided to play again and only catch my 6 fave pokemon... that was fun. No I don't think I bothered with that Be kind to your pokemon thing xD Even now I still go 'KILL THAT POKEMON IF IT KILLS YOU I'M NOT REVIVING YOU' I'm so cruel Big Grin

I only play the games like they're meant to be played. Anything else is pretty gross, really.

GOTTA MAKE PERFECT POKEMONS.

That's not how it's meant to be played.

Gold (Japanese: ゴールド Gold) is the main playable character in Pokémon Gold and Silver and is the male choice in Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Silver is the rival character of the Generation II games and their Generation IV remakes, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, playing opposite Gold, Kris, or Kotone in Pokémon Gold and Silver, Pokémon Crystal, and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . *facepalm*

Have you even played the games? Because in Gold the main character is called Gold and the rival is called Silver. And in Silver the main character is called Silver and the rival is called Gold.

^That's only according to the obligatory "which game was the canon game?" question for people who care about the storyline.

I owned Silver. I played as Silver. My rival was Gold.
