(Call of Duty) Modern Warfare 2
#41
Multiplayer has been a very different experience for me. I've had games where I'm having a blast playing and then the next one will have me frustrated to the point of me almost throwing my controller at the wall.

I'll start off with things I personally have a problem with. I just started multiplayer today and I'm trying to get used to all these maps, but the majority of the maps are really sh'itty to play on. Maps like Derail, Sub Base, Underpass, Quarry, and Wasteland are horrendous. In some of the maps (Underpass and Wasteland) it is nearly impossible to see the enemy unless they are shooting. Camping is also something I have encountered a ton of in TDM. Everyone seems to just look out a window for 5 minutes, get 4 kills, care package, and then are rewarded with an AC-130 or Chopper Gunner. That makes me a bit annoyed since the game seems to reward camping. I'm a pretty defensive player, but sitting in one spot is just plain boring. If I do try to get a little bit more aggressive, I get punished for it. A camper here and there is fine, but when the whole enemy team is camping, you really can't be aggressive to take them out. So I guess my biggest gripe are the horrible maps IW designed.

The things I enjoy about this game are definitely the kill streaks. I especially like the Harrier Air Strike. I love the way it just sits in a spot and mows people down with it's cannon. Some people may think that they're over-powered, but air support is ridiculously easy to take down if you have the Stinger. If you don't try to take down air-support, your ass is going to get owned. The guns are pretty good so far, nothing I won't use. Surprisingly, I kind of like the FAMAS, even though I hated the M16 in CoD4. Maybe only because I'm using it now to pad my K/D ratio. Aside from the FAMAS, the SCAR-H is easily my favorite gun so far. It has awesome iron sights and is usually a 2-hit kill. The PP2000 is an insane secondary weapon to have. Good sights and high rate of fire. My favorite new perk so far is Scavenger, it's convenient not having to pick-up a different weapon when you run out of ammo. So to recap, cool guns and great kill streaks, but that doesn't make up for the bad maps.

My thoughts will probably change in a few weeks once I get fully accustomed to the maps, but this what my impression at the moment.

Here is some general info if anyone is interested. I really don't care about my K/D ratio, it just has to be above 1. Add me if you want, but send me a PM on here to let me know who you are. Oh and play Ground War if you hate camping, there tends to be a lot less camping in here than TDM.

To those who played the storyline through, did you notice any similarities to the Russian response to the airport attack and American respones to 9/11?

Yeah, I noticed some similarities between the two.

Also it is a very good game, best I've played in a longggg time.

Just started Campaign on Veteran Difficulty, though. Just got done with the Cliffhanger mission.

Also: Note to everyone, don't google for the list of titles and emblems and how to unlock them like I did. The only one I found that didn't automatically start downloading a virus was the one at gamefaqs, which is incomplete anyways.

What he meant to say is to push the button. Then run like a little girl and hide somewhere safe. I find it more fun using a riot shield to kill everyone there =).

Also, I like the "stealth" factor in some of the spec op missions, kinda got tired of the same old run and gun and shoot everything before it shoots you.

Multiplayer: Shield + enemy sentry gun = xp Big Grin
And yes, I seem to agree with the cold blooded/ stopping power, Stealth seems to be more important this time around. Though I am quite happy that the death streaks aren't as bad as people say they are (and is happy that marthydom or whatever it's spelled, is harder to get and I don't have to worry about running into it every single time I kill someone =).)

After playing for the majority of the weekend, my views on multiplayer have drastically changed. The maps are alright, but there are still some maps I hate (Sub Base and Overpass). There is waaaay less camping and more run-and-gun now. However, this game requires you to play a lot more defensively than CoD4.

Currently my set-up is Bling Pro + Stopping Power Pro + Steady Aim Pro with the SCAR-H + Red Dot + Silencer. My friend who played on my account for 6hrs uses the FAL + Red Dot + Heart Beat Sensor. I think my ideal set-up is the M4 + RDS + Silencer with Bling Pro, Cold-Blooded Pro, and Ninja Pro once more people start using the HBS.
