Hypothetical scenario...
#1
Okay, let's say HT pendants were all rollbacked to 22 hypothetically. But then Nexon releases 2nd and 3rd quests just for a meso sink or to compensate for the hammer glitch. Everyone agrees this is not a glitch, right? Cool.

Now, a comparison between luk and lukless mages. Everything will be same scrolled for their class. Oh, no hammers for the comparisons, because they'll end up the same anyways.

130 lukless:
155/5 Ele wand.
20 int Sauna
10/8 PuAC
9/15 Earrings
11/9 YWG's (2 30's and 3 70's)
3 int YSS's
7/14 Broken Fence
5 int mask
52/52/52/52 HTP
15/15/29/15 Z-Helm

130*5+18=668. +Equips (352)=1020 magic buffless.

130 Luk:
155/5 Ele wand (That's right, the luk is for something else.)
31 int/7 luk enigmatic (Yeah. Enigs start with 6 int, plus makering a Wisdom and Luk advanced crystal makes it 11 int/7 luk. 10 60's still)
10/8 PuAC
9/15 earrings
18 int/9 MA Dark Clarities (Highest you'll go for a Luk equip, so no need for Adv luks. Adv wisdom+4 int base=9 int+2 30's and 3 20's)
9/6 Enigma shoes OR 8 int/6 luk/1 MA Gold lapiz's (Lapiz's are a better candidate for chaoses).
7/14 broken fence
5 int mask
52/52/52/52 HTP
15/15/29/15 Z-Helm

Before the magic sum up: Yeah, instead of LUK being for your main weapon, use the same weapon as the Luk-less mage and use higher int bases for your other class equips.

Summing up total Luk: 4 base+52+15=71. 3 from ele wands, 6 from either shoe, 7 from your OA. 13+3=16+71=87. Dark clarities only require 83 luk. But if you add in enigma shoes that also require 83 luk, you'll have to subtract 6 luk, making the total 81. Lapiz sandals are better for when you chaos anyways, so you could always sub in a 3 int/2 luk glasses for the 5 int mask. So, either a total of 87 with no changes, or 83 with a handicap for more luk.

130*5+18=668+382=1050 total magic.

Okay, this means Luk mages become Luk-less's with the look of a Luk mage. Um..At least the generic Lukless mage image is gone forever?

I suppose luklesses could use BH Gi's...or agent shoes. But really, the Luk mage would/has assumed superiority once again. If you do define a Luk mage by his weapon...:

155/5 Ele wand vs. 128/5 Ele staff. 160 vs 133=Win by 27. Luk mages still win by about 3 magic. Plus the luk req for a staff..105-87=18. Add 16 to base. Luklesses win by 13 magic, with a weapon hugely superior to the Luk's. Keep in mind Ele staffs are cheaper to buy, and therefore easier to 30% without loss of a fuckton of mesos, but that's now including cost. This is a cost-less scenario.

Discuss? And tell me I didn't say luke instead of luk somewhere.. I did that so many times.

There's no reason a LUK-less Magician should be wearing any LUK-less gear if they can wear better LUK gear.

Exactly what I was going to say. With 71 luk (15+52+4) without even trying, why wouldn't you maker some luk equips? Even before HT pendants, lukless mages would scroll level 13 overalls for the 1 int and easy availability. This is really a comparison of old lukless mage vs. new lukless mage (aka +3 HTP).

If you really want to compare lukless vs. luk, forgo ele wands and do it for bishops. Aim for a timeless weapon. That competition will be more accurate. I do wish that +3 HTPs hadn't come out though, that would make things much, much more close.

Jus fyi Lapiz Sandals can only have 1 jewel applied, so they'd be 8 int 1 luk or 3 int 6 luk, unless you got lucky using an Advanced Dark Crystal. I believe Enigma(80) is the lowest level equip you can have 2 jewels on.

Aren't both of these lukless magicians though? They have 4 base luk, and they're using a lukless weapon... really it's a question "should I use Maker to wear mage items" to which the answer is yes.
