Ewands fixed/nerfed? True or rumour?
#1
I saw a post in the general section that seemed to say that elemental wands had been recently fixed (or nerfed for bishops), presumably in the last patch.
I did a search and looked back through the last few weeks of threads but found nothing else; I would have expected plenty of threads from angry bishops if this were true. However, I then spent an owl in FM and there were several Ewand 8's on sale at relatively low prices (and I bought one), so maybe it is true, or at least many people think it is.
I find it very surprising that Nexon would do this after a year. Maybe they did it by mistake when they copied sections of code from another version.

It is true, they were fixed.

Fixed, yes. I used a lv 70 e-wand on my 14x Bishop, I used to hit near ... 50k+ with lv 20 Gen, now since they fixed e-wands, I'm only hitting near HALF of that.

Oh that'd be silly, it's a Holy symbol, clearly your area.

Now your magic door or your elemental resistance that covers all elements instead of just two... those are fair game.

I think it should be 70% resistance to the elements of the job and 30% of the others. Goggleemoticon

Most games, it's 50% (minimum) resistance to their own element. I've never seen a game in which a single element resisted most or all others.. Well, maybe a 'few' games that had AN element such as "Time", "Elemental", etc that was resisted to 100% of every single element out there.

OK, thanks for confirming. I now see this was discussed a week ago in the Nexon announcements section. Somehow my search missed it.

Anyway, regarding the announcement:

"Elemental Wand Changes
Bishops have been rebalanced to receive a penalty for using an Elemental Wand or Staff without the Holy element to use Holy skills."

It seems to me that the 'without the holy element' bit implies that there might be a Holy wand/staff coming out.

A nice thing to do would be to have a quest that would allow bishops to convert their wand to holy element.

Don't over-interpret it.

The sentence has the same meaning if you apply it to any other element - "FP's have been rebalanced to recieve a penalty for using an elemental wand or staff without the Fire/Poison element to use FP skills"

Same meaning - Just means that "using a weapon without the element of your associated skill will punish you".

It just so happens there are no holy elemental ones. Doesn't mean there will be. Just more badly translated documentation.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.
