Well, something people need to know about me is that i'm a merchant by nature. Whether it's maple or RL all I ever think about is money. I can't help it . I started investing in the stock market at 18 years old and i've doubled my stocks value in the last 3 weeks.
Anywaysss I don't have much to invest so I can't make much back. I just don't have the huge amount of money to make a huge amount of money . Well.. since I don't, I came up with these 2 ideas so far for a business.
Eat Right store- Health store of course. Selling anything and everything about eating/living right. I made up the slogan "Eat Right, Live Smart". There's not really any competition which would be great for this store. GNC I guess would be the only competition, but they only sell muscle milk and vitamins lol. I would sell lots of fruits, salads, teas, work out stuff, vitamins, and things like that.
Online meme store- I thought of this after seeing 4chan hackers completely owning Time magazine. It would be an online meme store that sells meme goods. One idea for a t-shirt I had was one that says "There's a naked girl on the back of this shirt" on the front, and "LOL RICKROLLED" and a picture of rick on the back. Maybe a shirt that says "I'm with Noob --->" or something, or a PWNED bumper sticker lol. I think I could sell stuff like that pretty easily. Maybe make a slogan "The MEMErabelia store" lmao. Call the site Lulznoob.com? iono XD
I'm just brainstorming a bit... I'd like to be successful in life and the most successful people don't work for others, they work for themself. Well.. what do you guys think? Good ideas so far?

There's shirts that say I'm with Noob and Pwned. But shirts like the rickroll idea are pretty good. Meme store for sure.
Other ideas for it
- I'ma chargin' my lazer! and have the giant thing with a lazer blast xD
- On the front have the back of the dramatic prairie dog, and then the back of the shirt have it's head turned lol.
- Have a shirt that says like "In rick we trust" and make it like the obama thing but rick astley =P

No, I hope you were joking about that online meme store idea. That's ridiculous.
I don't suppose you're much older than 18-20? So are you in college or haven't started yet? What are your plans there? Do you plan to get into business without any college education?
Do you have any idea where to even start? An idea's good, but it's meaningless without the knowledge to make it into something. A great deal of small businesses fail, as well. What will make yours succeed and be profitable for you?
Just throwing it out there.

Okay, good. You had me worried with the online meme idea. You've made it pretty apparent you don't even have a very good knowledge of the internet's memes (or 4chan in general, for that matter). Not that it was a good idea in the first place, but still. Go into something you're really knowledgeable in.
And with the economy as terrible as it is, what's your plan for overcoming that? I realize you're just playing with ideas, but it all sounds like weak fantasy as of now. Maybe I'm just pessimistic because small businesses NEVER succeed around here. They die quickly. One exception was a coffee shop; that's been around for awhile now and does alright.

The popularity of memes is rising! So that may have an affect on his idea.

I take he wants to have a serious business and a successful future. That won't get him anywhere. It's something to do with your spare money/time, not your life or even for starting out. And actually, real life is (not) surprisingly oblivious to most "popular" things on the internet. It would never be anything more than an obscure website that sells stupid things.

Well there is that gamer clothing store, I forget what its called, but I bet they're doing pretty good.
I was reading the TIME thing on moot saying 4chan has 5 million visitors daily. Even if that number is slightly exaggerated its still a huge untapped market with no competition. Sure it won't be as great as starbucks or bestbuy, but I'm sure I could make quite a bit off of it.

Well, having a store with things from the internet isn't a half bad idea. If you ask nearly any kid in my school to sing We're No Strangers to Love, the can.
Do you know why FilmCow releases a new Charile cartoon every year? Because it earns him a few thousand dollars a month. He claimed when over a year ago Adult Swim wanted to make a Charlie show that they would pay $2,500 for it, which was less than he made off CafePress that month.
My point is that the Internet can earn you a fair sum of money. But you'd probably have to make a cartoon as popular as that first.

Okay, but you're not factoring in common sense/real life. If you really think you can make quite a bit off of it from underageb&'s and young adults, then I'll gladly eat my shoes. Internet memes aren't in the same league as "gamer" clothing. The only ones a majority of people even know are the ones that have transcended the internet.
Walk around wearing a shirt that says "Son, I am disappoint." or "mmm DFC" or "3D PIG DISGUSTING" and see how many people have any frickin' idea what your shirt is about. Hell, that last one might make people think of SWINE FLU (oh god lol). I mean, yeah, I'd wear those because I'm a f'ag, but think about it for more than a second.
Unless you truly are shooting for garbage like OVER 9000, CHARGIN' MAH LAZOR or LONGCAT...which even most of 4chan is sick of, I wish you extra good luck. Only newf'ags still find that stuff funny.

And Kabanaw makes a good point too. Or make something successful yourself. If you can make something catch on in a big way, you can milk it good.

There's your idea Rusty! I write music, you make it famous, we share the profits! lololo
Iono, something about the first idea just doesnt sound successful to me. The second idea is definitely thinking outside the box and would definitely work, but it'll be taken more as a joke than as something serious. How far can you get on it? I wouldnt say too far, but you'd get enough to give you more money to work on something bigger.

Don't forget the goggles! This would be cool. People wouldn't get it, if they didn't know, so they can't really call you a nerd for it.
But, I think the Online store should be way more productive in the fact where you don't need to pay rent, or as much taxes on a store.

You'd have quite a bit of competition with the food store.

^One store in my area that comes to mind.
Meme store sounds... interesting.

Rusty, pull this off and I'll help you build it. My family has a good history with building up businesses. Hell, if you could pull this off, I could help you expand your franchise around the world, starting with Japan.
