Watchmen

Go watch it, it's basically 2 hours and 43 minutes of the most amazing movie you'll ever see. The style it was done in, and it's plot made it just such a good movie in my eyes. I watched out soooo god damn happy.

Go see it. Now.

If you read the comic, you'll love how loyal it is. It doesn't cut out much (mostly parts of flashbacks and the entire news stand sub plot) and has many of the famous panels and lines included. They changed the plot slightly, but if they hadn't the movie would have been 4 hours long.

As a movie by itself, it was still amazing. Great action scenes, great writing (they pretty much took the dialogue right out of the comic) and a fun plot.

You'll have a better understanding of it if you read the Graphic Novel, I read it awhile ago, and I enjoyed it.

I plan on seeing it today or tomorrow.

Yes. Quite often. I think in most of the scenes he's actually nude rather than clothed.

so late on this but hey, :\

Im reading the novel (big difference between a book and a novel but thats another story) every time i go to target and have free time. Getting about a chapter every time i do get to sit with it. The basic idea of it is an alternate route of the USA's development in the 1960s. Also with this, is the real idea of the "Minutes to Midnight" project, which judges certain things in the world and release a report with the picture of a clock with so many minutes left til midnight on it (each chapter contains this clock). Now to sum up some of the major ideas, its basically a very deep look into the human psyche, and such like that (especially the Dr. M and Laurie on Mars).

I havnt even finished it yet and thats just my taking from it. Very good read if you like your brain poked. Also, there a movie thats come out recently that deals with the sub plot of the comic thats being read at the news stand. If i remember correctly, they said something about it (the in-novel portion) holding good bit of ideas to the story as a whole, which i actually kind of neat plot device. Ive been skipping the dialog for that comic tho >_>

And i havnt seen the movie but am dieing to, maybe this week.

The minutes to midnight thing came up in the movie, only once or twice in conversation though, the novel and movie really dont sound all that different from each other.


Rorschach made it great for me, it still would have been decent without him, but he really made the movie for me.

Rorshach was the entire movie. You could pretty much ignore everything else, because everything else sucked.

main reason you guys feel that way about Rorshach is because the movie really is about him. Hes the only one that had cared about Blakes murder in the first place.

there was so much more to it, they just made it revolve around him. i didn't like rorschach, i could barely tell what he was saying.
