Summer Games Done Quick 2013

Some of you may know about this already, but the game marathon Summer Games Done Quick starts tomorrow (June 25th), hosted by Speed Demos Archive.

This year's event will be raising money for the charity Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which delivers emergency medical care to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, natural disaster, or exclusion from health care in more than 65 countries. An independent international humanitarian organization, MSF unites direct medical care with a commitment to bearing witness to the plight of the people it assists.

Here's the schedule, which covers the 25th-29th, and times shown are adjusted to your computer's set timezone.

As with all of their marathons, they will have "goals" for quite a few of the games listed, which can be donated towards unlocking. Goal rewards can be things such as higher difficulty, imposed handicaps (playing with your feet or whatnot), different boss order for games like Mega Man, character names on Final Fantasy games, and so on. You can also be entered in for a drawing when you donate, and win things like perlers, game merch, shirts, and other various prizes.

The event will be streamed live on http://marathon.speeddemosarchive.com/ and as soon as the individual runs are uploaded, can be viewed at any time via the History tab along with runs from past events.

Totally hyped for this. I've watched every AGDQ / SGDQ, including the "Awful games done quick" / spinoff ones.

I found the previous years on YouTube through Cosmo and I'm totally excited to see them live this year.

Looking forward for Cosmo to break that Castlevania 64 WR *-* (nah, he probably won't, but still)

Marathon starts off with a New Game+ run of Okami HD. Also I figure I'll edit the main post to show final run times.

EDIT: Stream's been bugging up too much to keep some of the accurate times.

I remembered to make it for Luigi's Mansion! didn't know it was a 100% run. Haven't seen it this way before, should be pretty awesome

The Luigi Mansion run was pretty hype. I loved the "Dance Ending".

Totally can't wait for Quest 64.

That Duke guy was really cool. He destroyed Hotline Miami. Also it was really cool that Devolver Digital was watching the stream and tweeted that Duke is going to get a copy of Hotline Miami 2 for free.

The original time for Cosmo's run was 9:00am for me, but since the times kept changing the run started at 8:40am. It was just 20 minutes that I lost but I was sad.

The speedrunning is cool and all, but I can't handle this room of people. Also the guys fedora.

The TP commentary that's happening right now is freakin hilarious.
