I've been locked inside a Honda Odyssey for the past fifteen hours with my parents for a "family bonding" trip.

This is my job. I'm the mediator, mitigator, and peacemaker. Everyday day in, day out, I'm literally the glue that holds my family together. And I'm frankly wearing out.
This "family bonding" is the type of convoluted crap my parents come up with in order to "mend and heal" our family. Frankly this is where I'm supposed to intervene. To play both sides, to be two-faced, and baby both sides like their little children.

While I wasn't paying attention, my mom started slapping my dad in the head as retribution for his defiance in refusing to turn off the radio.

My dad took both hands off the wheel and started beating up my mom. This was all fairly normal to me. Unfortunately, our whole family was unaware of the sharp bend that shortly came up ahead.
Before we knew it our car flipped straight over the steel road block.
Frankly put, it was the most amazing feeling I ever felt. I savored in the feeling of reaching the peak of motionlessness. The idea of finally being free. Finally ending all this nonsense.
Right before we hit the water my eyes opened wide, my pupils dilated, and I realized:
