Polantaris Wrote:Its fun, but it's really hard. I can't tell if the difficulty is because I'm playing alone, because I'm a Mage (they seem pretty bleh so far), or both.

There's definitely already quite a few things I can see that can be improved upon, especially in regards to the minimap. You can't set waypoints, and it doesn't show Dungeons or any other markers that the main map that takes the whole screen shows. It would be nice to be able to set your own Points of Interest as well.

Overall I like it, but I'm probably going to try the other classes before I go crazy, because it takes forever to level.

The map generation is superb, and it's definitely clear Wollay spent a lot of time on it.

So as of now, do you (and everyone else so far who has bought it) honestly feel like this is a game that is fun enough and worth getting, or should one wait later on?

I'm not sure what to do. It looks interesting but eh...

For the people who have it and are playing it: how is the player customization? Can you really personalize your look for your character, or is it rather lackluster?

Customization is only decent, but keep in mind that it's still in alpha. Weapons and armor offer per-voxel customization, so I wouldn't be surprised if they added that feature to characters as well.

The game is sort of slow to start since early levels are pretty hard, but once you get in the swing of things Cube World is really fun. I'd say it's worth the $20.

From the looks of it Cube is an action/adventure RPG. Minecraft is just a "crafts" game.

Minecraft is a builder sandbox, while Cube World is an RPG sandbox. Both Sandboxes, but in completely different genres.

I think that, especially since later on the price will go up, it's worth the money. There's definitely room for improvement, but overall it is enjoyable and there's certainly lots of fun to be had.

So my friend is also interested in getting this game so that we can play the game co-op, but the problem is that he doesn't have a credit/debit card OR even a bank account to attach to a PayPal account. Is it possible for me to buy two copies of the game and give one to him? Or would there be some kind of a problem and things end up with me owning two copies of the game for no reason?

You should just make an account for him, or log into his account with a temporary password, buy it, then switch the info so that it's secure (or not, up to him, dunno how much you trust each other). You can use the same PayPal account, just not the same Picroma account. I don't think there's gifting at this time.

Alright. Quick follow-up question: where does the game get downloaded and put? Is it attached to the Picroma site or is it installed straight to your computer?

There's a download on the site, which installs basically exactly like Minecraft. You install it like a regular application, but to play you must log in through the Launcher, which also checks for updates.

Finally activated my account, now to buy it once I get back from the 4th of July party.
Quick question, are the characters/worlds created tied to the computer(like the Minecraft worlds) or to the account?

I HIGHLY doubt they are tied to the account. It doesn't seem like any Internet connection is required outside of starting the game, so it can't possibly be tied to the account.

Though a service like Steam Cloud Saves would be nice.

That was a quick response, thank you. Biggrin
