E3 2013 General
 Spoiler

I saw it coming with the new Mario game, but not to this level of disappointment. I agree with you on that a direct sequel to Mario Galaxy would have been better as I had been starving for Galaxy graphics in HD ever since the idea crossed my mind. It's definitely sad that the 3D Mario game turned out to merely be NSMBU 3D version...

But that said, most of this disappointment comes from the fact that it can't reach Galaxy's standards than from it being a bad game at all, in fact, it looks awesome on its own, the cat power up sure upgrades the gameplay by increasing its speed and I'm personally glad that they made Peach playable, she should have been since the first NSMB on Wii.

As for Smash Bros, cheer up dude, there's chance for it to get all the stuff you want. I hope you realize that "Coming 2014" isn't anytime sooner than July or even December. Wonderful 101 can be used as an example, its being teased since around a year and there's quite some new features in this lastest trailer than there were the first time (finally the jelly powerup does something). Also blasphemy on you saying Megaman is nowhere near as impactful as the previous characters Rolleyes

Tha trailer of Mario Kart 8 left me worried to be honest, I am afraid the implementation of those anti gravity features very deep mean that Nintendo has no intention on developing a new F Zero for the Wii U. Other than that feature it looked like MK7 on HD.

In conclusion I'd say this direct affirms September as the right date to start buying a Wii U.

Well requiring Plus to play online is a bit of a bummer but everything else from Sony's conference was music to my ears. I guess that will be the console I pick up in the future. I just hope Microsoft doesn't use its billions of cash reserves to just buy exclusivity for a console that not many people even want.

The Nintendo direct was not as good as I hoped, like people said no real surprises. I didn't even find megaman that big a surprise at all. I thought the Wii Fit trainer was an assist trophy at first but as a character, that seems a bit of a waste of a roster spot. Game look great though from what was shown so far. I hope there are some differences between the two versions and the 3DS one isn't just a portable version or something.

They sure went all out on Mario Kart 8, it has pretty much everything and then some, though I'm not sure I like that. I enjoyed the simpler games more like the N64 version. But seeing the whole anti-gravity racing made my heart sink a little… F-Zero.. Oh how I miss you.

When they said 3D Mario I must say I was expecting more than that. It was a huge anti-climax. I did enjoy the 3DS game and the cat suit did make me laugh but yeah when you tease a 3D Mario and deliver that it will only lead to disappointment.

The X game is still looking as great as ever, I can't wait for more info and Bayonetta 2 is looking like more of the same which is a good thing.

Personally I can't see myself picking up a Wii U this year either since pretty much all the games were listed as 2014.

The new Donkey Kong game looked really good but again finding out that that was Retro's secret project was a bit of a let down too. A new IP every once and a while wouldn't hurt.

Oh and Wind Waker in HD yeah I'm sure it will be good but I can't really get that excited about it either.

If I remember correctly its 5$ a year, but even if it was 50 a year, It'd still say its pretty fair considering all the side benefits.

As for the Wii fit Girl, Im pretty sure their objective with that was make a hilarious character, and they sure made me laugh when I saw the trailer.

inb4 wii fit lady top tier. Though with a base female body template, alot of character skin mods could easily come about

I almost bursted out laughing during lecture watching that video, haha. As much as I want more "srs" characters in the roster, I'm fine with this. I plan on using her to troll people on Basic Wi-Fi matches.

Megaman seems to play really similarly to how he does in Super Smash Flash. Heck 5 out of his 8 moves were first in Flash, however the pickable metal blade and crash bomb along with no control over the explosion of the bomb makes me worry those moves might actually cripple Megaman instead of helping him at all.

I imagine it would be the same price as the current plus since your subscription carries over. I'm not saying it's expensive just not convenient for me. I liked the original system that added value for your subscription rather than restricting. I can go 6+ months without turning on a console so a monthly subscription loses a lot of value for me. I can always just get multi-plat games for PC though and play online for free like I have been doing this gen.

I'm not an XBox fan, but if I was one, these changes would be the deal breaker. I don't trust Microsoft that much either. XBone being geared for more money, DRM/Online restrictions, and overall less consumer friendly, while the PS4 is the exact the opposite. Nevertheless, it's amusing on how Microsoft is shooting itself in the foot and how the PS4 is topping it.
From XBone's Wikipedia article:
Quote:Privacy concerns

The console's prominent use of the Kinect sensor has been the subject of concerns surrounding its possible use for surveillance. As the device must be connected into the user's Xbox One at all times to be functional, privacy advocates contended that the increased amount of data which could be collected with the new Kinect (such as a person's eye movements, heart rate, and mood) could be used for targeted advertising. Reports also surfaced regarding recent Microsoft patents involving Kinect, such as a digital rights management system based on detecting the number of viewers in a room, and tracking viewing habits by awarding achievements for watching television programs and advertising. While Microsoft stated that it currently has a privacy policy which "prohibit[s] the collection, storage, or use of Kinect data for the purpose of advertising", critics did not rule out the possibility that these policies may be changed prior to the release of the console. Concerns were also raised that the device could also record conversations, as its microphone remains active at all times. In response to the criticism, a Microsoft spokesperson stated that users will be able to "pause" Kinect sensing when desired, be provided with key privacy information and settings during the console's initial setup, and that user-generated content such as photos and videos "will not leave your Xbox One without your explicit permission."

Well, even though the Wii U isn't doing much for hardware changes compared to the PS4, I'm really interested in their game library.
In addition to those Mario, Kirby, SSB, and Zelda games, you can also expect some Pokemon games for them as well down the road. Just hoping it's not another stadium game, but something similar to the handheld versions. I'm also interested in that Animal Crossing game.

I know that Xbox one will be pretty shitty due to Microsoft wanting to play Big Brother, but besides from the always online pomegranate, i have one serious question...

Whats impeding people from placing the console looking to a wall or covering it with something after you are done playing?

Most dumb question ever? Possibly yes but i would love an answer Tongue.

(P.S: Apparently KH3 was somewhat revealed recently for the PS4 isn't it? Let's enjoy that since apparently sony PS4 will be the best console of the generation even though they are losing money with it, so lets enjoy it while it last Tongue)

As someone who played melee competitively, I'm very excited to see how SSB4 will play. It seems to be more dynamic than Brawl, so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm actually excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's cut on the WiiU.
I know its a game that came in 2011 but I have't played it yet. xP (Hell, I'm still in the middle of the original Deus Ex which came in 2000 XD) Good news since Eidos dissapointed me with Deus Ex: The Fail.

Btw, probably someone already said it, but it's Gerudo Valley

Remind me, LoTP 2 takes place in the "Downfall" era, yes?

Yep.

Also, in relation to the dark Trifroce, the upside-down Triforce on Demise's blade :

There are multiple possibilities here. Either the dark Triforce in the logo is just for show (unlikely), the dark Triforce is somehow related to Demise (possible), or the dark Triforce just represents the return of the Dark World (highly possible). Maybe the Triforce gets absorbed into darkness, recreating the Dark World? Or possibly, some of the essence of the Dark World and/or Ganon was absorbed into the Triforce during its time resting in the Dark World and Ganon's hatred somehow corrupts the Triforce, creating a Dark Triforce, submersing the entire world into eternal night? o.o Kind of cheesy, but a possibility.

Could just be a mirrored form of the Triforce. Darkness and Light are required for balance, so it's possible a ''negative Triforce'' exists because it MUST exist. That's pretty much how the original Link to the Past was if I'm not mistaken. Dark World wasn't the ''Light World'' in the apocalyptic future, but rather its own realm that represented the exact opposite of what the ''Light Realm'' was.

Triforce brings balance to the Light World. Dark Triforce is the balance for the Dark.

The wizard has broken the wise men's seal and opened a gate to link the worlds at Hyrule Castle. In order to save this half of the world, the Light World, you must win back the Golden Power."

The Dark World wasn't always Dark.

We know that. It was the Sacred Realm. Ganon's wish upon the Triforce was not one to provide dominion over Hyrule. It was one that supplied Ganon so he COULD obtain dominion over Hyrule.

Seriously, how close-minded is Microsoft? They've done crap like this again and again.
