Borderlands 2

I'm specifically talking about Axton's Survival tree, and how I want to build around Pressure while going towards Gemini, but Preparation is counter-intuitive to that despite being directly above it, Last Ditch Effort sounds stupid, Forbearance doesn't sound too useful, but I haven't been statused very much yet, and Grit is also counter towards what Pressure does.

The status' don't actually become a problem until you do the "real vault hunter" story. What I've done is just invest in general perks till about level 30ish, then I would reset to jump right to the big upgrades.

I haven't gotten too terribly far into it yet, but there are no extra skill points as rewards from quests.

@JoeTang I know how that goes....As Axton's survival tree goes along more and more, it sucks even more and more. That's why I put 5 skills in the two top tier skills, and just kind of skipped out on some of the other suckier skills like last ditch effort, etc. I have the 10 points there, the Overcharge skill, 1 point in shields, then the turret reduction, grit, and finally the two turret skill. Once you're level 50, you kind of get to experiment out with builds. I've tried using my turrets as nukes, and not for the bullets, and it works out quite nicely. Throw out turrets > Call them back after HUGE boom (No lie, it can basically 1hko anything except badasses) > Repeat. The slag bullets in the first tree seem nice, as well. I didn't play around with them too much. But that's the tree I would double with survival if we had the skill points to spare....

Slag Bullets sounds like such a great thing after finally getting some slag guns, and it's basically placing two turrets at the same spot, which is what I'd usually do anyways, but I want the utility of placing them in two places and herpderp everything to death. Since the tree is so bad, I got the missiles from Guerrilla first =/ The main reason I want to see two turrets is to have them shoot missiles from both at one enemy and lol at it.

I know how you feel in that regard. One of the reasons I stopped playing when the game was originally released was a combination of Maya's skills looking like crap, and a lot of them feeling like just re-hashed Lilith skills. I know they're both Sirens, but a new game should have new skills and new classes, even if they are named the same class. Hell, even in an ECHO Handsome Jack says each Siren has different crazy ass powers...and yet they didn't feel all that different to me. The only difference I experienced was a useful action skill compared to the one Lilith had.

One of the benefits of Mechromancer, in my opinion, is that she isn't based on one of the BL1 classes. She's got some pretty decent skills, a lot of her skill trees is stuff I want. There are a few skills I find rather useless, like increasing the speed of Deathtrap. He goes pretty damn fast and can go through walls by default, so why would I care about that? Another is the end-tier skill in I believe it was the middle skill tree, that gives him a copy of your shield. I've never once had him die on his own, it's always the timer that gets him...so another skill that confuses me as to why it exists. Thankfully, I haven't hit a point where I'm trying to advance down a tree and have no idea what to buff because all the choices suck, but I can certainly see why other classes would have that issue.

Hrm...so if you're maxed out, the only draw for this is new enemies and even rarer gear? I suppose I shouldn't complain, but when it comes to a game like BL2, when I hit max level I kinda just get bored with no progression outside of story. Certainly no reason to do it twice (Regular and then TVH mode), and even if you can buy new gear for the new rarity...I've never really seen much buyable that's really that great. Oh well, I'll have to wait for sales for this pack.

Anyone know if they've said anything about the next one? They seem to be dishing this stuff out pretty quickly this time.

You didn't get extra skill points until Moxxie's Underdome in the first one. Zombie Island was pretty good for story, but the monsters were weak when I went through it since it initially didn't scale or something. Moxxie's Underdome was terrible content. I'd expect one of the other planned DLCs to have skill point rewards to a similar degree, and perhaps another to raise the level cap by a small amount.

Also, Lilith had the most broken Action Skill ever. It was so unbelievably abusive.

Looks like the next dlc will be "Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage." New trophies for this dlc were added in the patch on the ps3 today.

I'm a little dissapointed with the new seraph rarity weapons. Most of the legendaries are better and it can take weeks to earn these seraph weapons if done legitimately. It costs 120 seraph crystals to buy a weapon and these new bosses drop about 6 each time you kill them(the 2 bosses have a once-a-day limit). Oh, and one of the raid bosses is glitched and doesn't drop any crystals.

Just got the game for my birthday!

Ah, you're right. I forgot that Ned didn't add any skill points.

I agree completely that Moxxie was completely worthless content. It was awful. It was the only one I didn't finish. It gave me and my friends more of a headache than warranted. It sounded like a cool idea at first...but it was awful.

Lilith's Action Skill was only really good (in my opinion) when you had Phoenix, which also was an end-tree skill which meant that you couldn't get any of the other ones (Even with all the DLC, I believe, but I could be wrong there, it's been too long). Maya's, on the other hand, is definitely useful from the beginning, but the two have too many similarities to me and it kinda killed the fun for me. Granted, that's half my fault for playing the same type of character twice.

@案山子; Congrats.

Thank you.

Are there any ways to ''enhance'' old gear by any chance? I think what makes things harder for me is getting something that I feel could be useful, if only its stats or level were raised or something. I get to a point where I implode while trying to decide whether to save it or sell it.

Also, 27hours clocked in so far...

Nope, but loot drops like candy so get crazy exchanging weapons every 2 minutes or so unless they are purple or orange which can be used for a good while (Sometimes even blues). Theres also the eridian tech weapons (Pink) but i find those most annoying than useful.

Thanks, that makes it easier for me to just let go of a lot of crap then.

I actually don't go through weapons often at all. I'm almost Lv23 and I'm still using some Lv15~19 stuff.

Yeah, I don't even consider items that are not blue anymore. If they are green, I grab them to sell and I ignore whites. Blues are mostly "Just in case I get lucky", because there's a low chance to get a quote on blues(red text, changes the effect of the gun), which could make them completely different over just the stats. For example, I just got a Blue Pistol that shoots a single bullet that splits into 7 with the first thing it hits and ricochets in a spiral. It's insanely powerful, far more than my Purple was beforehand but the two weapons are a similar level.

But yeah...greens/whites are useless in my opinion after like...Level 10.

I don't get blues+ that often, so i need to fall back to greens every once in a while, hanging too much to a weapon can be detrimental. (I learned that fighting dukino's mom)

In my case most of the blues+ are NPC'd just as often since I keep finding them with negative or no extra effects.

Also, Caustic Caverns has amazing atmosphere! My favorite area hands down so far. Glitter My incredibly steady, explosive-round assault rifle or my 180% crit damage sniper takes out those Crystalisks like nothing.

Melee the legs and you can kill them with 3 hits always.

I'd rather from a distance, especially since I'm a Sniper Zero I take the legs out in 2~3hits.; I'd assume 1~2 with my new one since it's about 600damage more than the previous one I was using.... Got it for like 12k from the gun shop deal of the day a while ago.

Killing crysalids is a 3 hit job (Minimum) always, they don't die if you don't kill the crystals on their 3 legs

Personally, I only had issues with Dukino's Mom because she was 33 and I was 30. I happened to have a Corrosive Weapon on me (E-Tech, no less) which is the only reason I was able to beat her.

Not true. A good Rocket Launcher can 1-hit them. Shoot in the middle of their bodies and the AOE can hit all three legs at once if the splash is big enough.

Rocket launchers are like cheat codes so... yeah. I barely used them (Mostly because their aim sucks balls)

XD If you're a Mechromancer it's like letting the enemy cheat. If you hit even the tiniest portion of the AOE with more than like...50 stacks of Anarchy, you instantly get downed.
