But yes this is likely the reason, if you haven't noticed the last two years they have accelerated the process to get the fun out of a job rather than working hard to get it. I honestly feel like that the game is essentially stepping on gravel until 140 where you start feeling the ground become flat and comfortable to walk in.
In my perspective the reason they think their game isn't holding players like it used to, is that not enough are hitting the end fast enough. The entire problem is, they are hitting it too fast, and conquering WAY to fast. So by nexon's logic they are trying to make them hit the end faster. At the same time, if this 5th job becomes a reality, it could break a lot of limitations and bring a whole new bossing experience, if they do it right. But I feel like they are too focused on shallow things and because they don't play their own game, don't realize that no matter how many times you change the glitter, you get the same experience. You can drive a different car to work everyday, but that goddamn bush that block's your left turn will ALWAYS be there.
Actually your right. The game is streamlining until like 140 or so. well maybe 130. but I disagree that is the full reason, cooped with making a bunch of characters. I think the problem is there isnt enough to explore. Well there is but the lvls for them are set during the "blaze past these lvls" Phase. so they remain untouched. And honestly I don't have a problem with blazing past a couple of levels. because some characters are just incomplete and stupid to play with at lower levels.
When I remember "the good old times" I remember alot of things. but the times that always reoccur were exploration based or fear. For me in maple, Grinding was just a filler to allow access to more exploration and fear. Exploration is self explainatory but fear isnt so much.
When I say fear I mean a couple of things.
1) Like the fear when you are exploring and your ACTUALLY SCARED of entering the next portal because you could die. so you pot up and close your eyes and hope for the best.
2) Fear when bossing. Think of the times of Big Foot pre-BB. I remember going there and being scared shytless until I got to the jumpquest. when you see the boss you just screem and and as fast as you can. And also with Anego and when her slap did like 15k. I remeber to start maxing achillies expecially for her and then have to make sure she was threaten 100% of the time too. and she still did like 9.5k~10k slaps.
this were some of my favorative times with the game itself. And when I had friends doing it with me it was even better. If they could re-add stuff to instill fear while keeping the lvl progress the same. That would be the best.
