Meh, I just feel like if you're adventuring with someone, it's best to have different classes, to cover your bases better. It's proven pretty good with him being a Warrior and me being a Guardian--he deals a ton of damage, but he's incredibly frail, and while I don't deal a lot of regular damage, I can deal a ton of non-stop conditional damage with the fire attacks, plus I can tank hits like no other. He dies a lot, so I usually have to finish off the opponents he softened up, and helping him back up.
On the Thief I was using a Sword + Dagger for the main weapon set and Pistol + Pistol for the secondary set. Like I said, the thing I just cannot get used to is requiring the Initiative to simply use my moves. I find myself jumping in doing a few good damaging moves, and then having to kite around for like 20 seconds for it to refill to keep using moves like Death Blossom and all.
I did try a Ranger, and it was pretty cool. I didn't get too far on it, though.
We found some more hidden jump quests while exploring and they were sweet. One was in a cave that we thought was just empty as it looks to be nothing in it, but enemies. But with a little hidden and strategic parkouring, you get to a whole different part of the cave with treasure chests and all.
Then we found the Abandoned Observatory jump quest--hoo boy, that was awesome, but so terrifying. One wrong move and you plummet to your death instantly. I love that about this game, you are just exploring and a little curiosity turns into finding a completely hidden area you otherwise would have never known about.
