Its like some exec was like 'Hey, I think reading takes too much imagination, kids might not have that. Lets make money by taking care of that for them, also, books are too convenient so lets make them read a BOOK IN FRONT OF A TV.'

then the CEO was like 'Great idea, my mom never read a book to me, so screw her.'
