I guess I should say "my hopes are that when the front counter would originally reach 7, it will reset."

It makes sense in my head but I can't find the words to have it make sense in text.

I understood that's what you meant. And pointed out that in my case, it would have reached 7 on the day of the maintenance.
It didn't reset that day. Nor the next one.
