Not exactly, I've seen a few players gettin "rare" items from cash and the regular offers are like 15~18G which is not that "great" income. And even more, I guess prices will drop once more players joins.

It's only not outrageously high yet because the Gold Farmers haven't worked their magic yet. It was only millions in Atlantica at first, then a few years later it was billions. Right now it's tens of billions. Just give it some time, the game is far too young to have costs in the billions.

I'm surprised people are investing money into at all atm. The risk of a character wipe is the only thing keeping me from just splooging $50 to get a push.

All the announcements pre-OBT on the forums called this the "launch" of the game. Essentially OBT is launch, I guess they just want to keep it as "Open Beta" so they have a line to fall back on if there's any major issues.
