It's significantly less active than it has been for a while though. It's becoming increasingly obvious that people are finding other games to play and don't care as much about MS. I'm hoping the exclusive 'hero' or whatever the hell it is they have planned for the summer patch is interesting, because if it isn't I'm getting closed to bailing out as well. A lot of my close friends have become very inactive lately and now that Diablo 3 is out they're not going to be around much at all.
I'd be interested in seeing a breakdown of server activity over a period of 6-8 months or so (hell, over the past year would be good) but I doubt something like that exists. I've been playing again for about a year and in that time the game feels a lot more inactive, and unless I'm just romanticizing the memory, I recall a lot more people playing in 2008-2009 than they did last year/do now. :|
