To whoever had that setup of random "tests" or so I assume. The dispenser with a mine-cart egg in it gave me an idea (seeing as I didn't know they existed), something of a multi-lane track that triggers traps with skeletons in minecarts shortly chasing after you and a sort of moving shooting battle that would end after a short time with either A.) all skeletons dead and proceeding as normal, or B) surviving skeleton triggers a switch and the path you are on descends into lava.
Granted I think this idea isn't possible, as last I checked, shooting inside a boat (and likely a minecart) doesn't work.
Been expanding the gravel roads out a bit, and hoping to use them to help people find new places to build as it will be VERY crowded near spawn, especially once the Giant's home base is built. Although on that same topic, people are free to dig into the walls/etc and live in the giant's home too, just no fire anywhere, no exception. If you need a nether gate lit there, ask an admin to do it (since in the event of a mislight, they can call rain down or produce infinite water to fix the problem.)
Don't really got a lot more to say for now, just keep in mind that a few of the current in progress things are dependent upon new content, so they may not make sense as of now.
EDIT: And now construction in the Great Ocean has started. New Gates in the Nether have been made to a few scenic locations ripe for creation. Also, a few more gates will be added for respective villages.
EDIT2: I would like to remodel my tunnel system. As of right now, it is just a straight line from the initial village to my main place, with offshoots for nearby locations, but I would like to turn it into the primary subway system of our server, a grid of 500x500 squares with sub tunnels connecting to the various surface dwellings and subterranean interests on independent rails. Of course this means removing my formal exit, but I don't mind a simple replacement or a switch in the track to go to and from my place. It would require a 7x9 path (accounting for lava), at base level 20 and would start the grid alignment where the surface station is now near the main village. The point of this would be to have a uniform tunnel system with which to traverse the world without relying solely on the Nether Network. Surface roads are nice, but I feel that I might cut through a territory someone may want to build in later that way. What I'd like to know is both is this something people are willing to consider (ie the possibility of cutting through underground stuff for the sake of uniformity and connection), AND if people would be willing to help me on this venture. I'm not too keen on multi track stuff with carts, and could use a hand with coordinating the lining up of things.
P.S. Are people generally bored with Minecraft these days and am I wasting my efforts here? I'd like to think adding age and infrastructure to this world would almost create a heritage, a story if you will. It is something that we all put together, and I think that it can become something we can all relate with.
