You should absolutely credit whoever finds something of importance like this. It was hidden in plain sight and chances are that if Viaje hadn't posted it then it would've gone unnoticed for some time to come.
It's not like it's terribly difficult to go "Thanks to Viaje of Southperry for the find!" It is terribly unprofessional and kind of sleazy not to give credit for such a find because it comes across as trying to take credit for it yourself. Major and minor news sites and blogs will almost always cite their sources.
