There's a few things I could consider of this game as impressive. And it's not customer support.
1. Simplicity. The game is EXTREMELY easy to understand. Buff, attack, move in 2D. There's not much besides that. however...
2. Variety. Let's face it, with the latest additions, you can aim for quite a lot of things. Monster book hunting, personality traits, improve your gear, level up, do quests, get that cygnus to 120 for the buff, get your 4th job mastery books... Lots of goals, and without the need to leave your main, since it improves it one way or the other.
3. Ease to update. This is a clear one. It's a 2D game, and simple. It's practically a piece of cake to create new content compared to other titles. Specially the 3D ones. That keeps the game fresh and brings back old players with ease. And it's not the "NEW" factor, but also because it keeps adding into #2. Events fall into this category too.
So yeah, with those points, you turn a too simple game into something that can easily lure you in.
