So if you want inflation to go down you should cut down on merchanting.

actually, merchanting is a source of "pay" for the merchanters to improve their own characters... look around for mispriced or cheap items, take advantage. they arent causing inflation. theyre just trying to take advantage of the situation. theyre fine. the real problem is people who havent worked for what they have, the botters. theyll buy whatever the merchanter sells because its the first one they came across and they dont care about how much something costs, even if its slightly overpriced. thats what causes inflation. if no one were willing to buy an overpriced item, the merchanter would be forced to lower his price in order to make back his investment.
