What is this? People comparing maple to real life?!?!
Even if that was valid at all, you dont steady your aim with a flintlock, flintlock pistols are so inaccurate you could secure it to a tripod to keep it steady and you still wont aim straight.
Plus, if you have ever held a shield in real life, you would know that reloading wouldn't be a big deal. There is two sections to a shield handle, the first you loop your arm into, the second you hold with your hand. you can easily let the shield rest on your arm while you use your now free hand to reload. Front line Riot officers are sometimes equipt with riot shields, and fire their pistols with one hand. This is only valid in this case because its easy to aim at a target with one hand at super close range, which is the only time you should be using pistols anyway.
Not that you reload in maple, anyway.
