Just throwing in two cents, but technically, Nintendo didn't have to offer ANYTHING in exchange for the price drop. You wanted the 3DS earlier than others, so you went out and bought it. You knew a price drop would happen eventually (what system hasn't had one?), but you decided to get it now rather than wait. You should be appreciative that they offered 20 free games for those that bought it at the original price.
